Some 50,000 Sherman tanks were built by nearly a dozen different manufacturers during World War II, making them available to the Allies as well as American forces fighting in Europe and the Pacific. BRANDON BERKOWITZ ACHIEVES EAGLE SCOUT RANK - Brandon Berkowitz, of Deer Park Boy Scout Troop 157, has received the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. For his Eagle Scout Project, he built and installed a bench for the Bus Matrons, as they wait for their buses to pick them up at the Deer Park Transportation Department on Lake Avenue in Deer Park. He also planted flowers and an angel statue. From Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts, he has demonstrated what scouting stands for values, dedication, commitment, discipline, and loyalty. Earning such a significant achievement shows the great potential he has as a citizen in his community, in the nation, and in the world. Brandon has received 170 congratulatory certificates and letters from around the world. His Eagle Scout ceremony will be held in October. His parents, Lisa and Sheldon, and his family, and friends are so proud of him. Job well done Brandon!
