aster musician and East Islip High School alumnus Joshua DeVries visited East Islip Middle School on December 18th, presenting a mini-recital for members of the school’s 7th and 8th grade band. The tuba player, a member of East Islip’s Class of 2008, spoke to the band students on effective ways to practice, how studying music can provide many future educational options, and showcased the skills that won him positions and orchestra fellowships.
