Hundreds of students attended the ceremony, many in their Seaford green sports jerseys. Volunteers from the high school handed out candles, programs and miniature American flags. The high school band performed the National Anthem and the chorus closed out the ceremony leading everyone in “God Bless America.”
Their family members were joined by a crowd well more than 1,000 people, including Seaford administrators, teachers, staff and students as well as community members, firefighters, police officers, scouts, clergy, representatives of local service organizations and elected officials. Umbrellas were up as they listened to master of ceremonies and retired teacher Steve Bongiovi talk about the exemplary character of the five alumni and how

On Sept. 9, several Seaford High School teachers took their classes out to the memorial in front of the school, with features plaques for each of the five alumni as well as pieces of steel recovered from the World Trade Center. LICC’s Building Healthy Lives Through Education Program delivers workshops, both virtually and on-site in schools, that encompass a variety of topics that address emerging mental health problems and emotional issues threatening young people today and also presents solutions to challenging behaviors for classroom teachers in academicFoundedsettings.in1971, the LICC provides 24/7 free and confidential counseling to Long Islanders of all ages who are in need of mental health support. Under the direction of Executive Director Theresa Buhse and Assistant Director Katie Stoll, the organization offers an extensive 6-month long training program for potential counselors that is regarded as the standard for crisis intervention centers

Rosemarie Mccarthy, the Founder of Harmony Cafe, grew up in a working-class family, where money was tight and food insecurity was sometimes a cause of stress. When she happened upon a mention of the One World Everyone Eats café model in a magazine, she went looking for a cafe to volunteer. This model goes off of the idea of a donation-based cafe that services a diverse socioeconomic range and providing nutritious and delicious meals. It sounded like something to which she wanted to donate her time and energy, but to her surprise, there was nowhere to volunteer in the Long Island region. With grit and determination, she decided to start Harmony Cafe right here on Long Island.Right
