irch Lane Elementary School students in Carmela Emmerich’s fourth grade Magnet class for academically gifted students researched New York State lighthouses and used recycled materials to create miniature replicas. The students also applied what they learned about working electrical circuits and carefully wired their lighthouses to illuminate as if they had a Fresnel lens.
