Longevity in marriage is something to be celebrated. Couples who reach fiftieth and sixtieth wedding anniversaries often commemorate those anniversaries with big parties. In December 2015, Karam Chand, 110, and his wife, Kartari Chand, 103, from Bradford, West Yorkshire (originally from India), celebrated their 90th wedding anniversary, becoming the world’s longest-betrothed couple.

(B.A.C.A.) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that exists to provide aid, comfort, safety and support for children that have been sexually, physically and emotionally abused. They are dedicated to the principle that ‘one of the basic rights of childhood is to be safe and protected’. When a child’s family or environment has failed them, B.A.C.A. stands ready to help.

One of the greatest and most unique assets of B.A.C.A. for children is their “biker family attitude”. Bikers are a tightly knit group! The brotherhood and family values are not just a way to live, but a way of life. One for all and all for one is not just a quote but it is their reality. After children have been introduced into the B.A.C.A. family they are not helpless or powerless anymore.

B.A.C.A. is a strong organization of dedicated individuals who are willing to sacrifice any On Saturday, May 18, the Long Island B.A.C.A. and all in order to protect and secure a child’s Chapter will be holding their 100 Mile Ride basic right to a happy childhood. that will take place throughout Long Island to raise awareness and funds. Bulk Food Buy Yesterday we invited 5 local soup kitchens to Restaurant Depot in Farmingdale & asked them purchase anything they needed because we had been receiving phone calls that their pantries were empty. Co-President Scott Lockwood and I headed up the event.

1. The Mercy Inn In Wyandanch (they serve lunch EVERYDAY to 150 ppl and send them home with food as well) 2. United Methodist Church of Babylon 3. Christ Episcopal Church in Babylon 4. Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Babylon 5. First Presbyterian

Church in Babylon The club spent $9400.

The receipt was longer than any CVS receipt I’ve ever received (if you can imagine.. lol.) This money was raised by our various fundraisers throughout the year... like the upcoming Dirty Sock Run (August 11th).

The club has been doing these bulk food buys for the local soup kitchens for 15 years and they do it twice a year (April & November). (That’s more than $300K spent over the years!!) It was a very moving experience to meet the people who cook the meals. A lot of thought goes into the menus they plan to try to stretch ingredients yet also provide

good nutrition. Most of soup kitchen attendees are elderly senior citizens and homeless. During the summer months, when kids are not able to get free meals at school, there are a lot more children.
