Eggs represents the symbol of fertility and new life.

The Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center is currently offering early bird registration for the Town’s Summer Hockey School program, developed

by The Rinx Hockey School at the Town’s Ice Skating Center, located at 1001 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage.

Hockey enthusiasts can sign up for any number of weekly sessions at discounted prices now through April 1st, 2016, from one week to all eight weeks of the program.

The Town’s Summer Hockey School offers hockey players a great opportunity to develop and learn new hockey skills in week-long sessions carefully tailored to match their talent level. The Rinx Summer Hockey School is an excellent way for kids to spend the summer so parents may wish to take advantage of the early bird registration, not only to develop their children’s hockey skills but for the

fun summer experience that comes with it.

The program, which is slated to begin Monday, June 27th and run through Friday, August 19th, will include a full day of onice and off-ice training run by trained hockey professionals. Throughout the week, participants will receive the benefit of 15 to 20 hours of on-ice training and 6 to 8 hours of off-ice training. The program will be broken down into two levels, intermediate and advanced. The intermediate skills program is for ages 5 through 12 and will include 15 hours of on-ice training per week and over 8 hours of training per week off the rink.

The advanced session is geared for travel players ages 6 through 14 and includes 20 hours of onice training and 6 hours of training per week off the ice. Both skill programs focus on shooting, passing, agility drills and field sports. Lunch every

day is included.

The Summer Hockey School sessions will be challenging, but will result in newly developed skills for our young hockey players. Each class will be filled with useful tips and techniques to fully develop each student’s hockey playing abilities.

I encourage parents to register their children for this excellent program which provides a quality hockey experience with all the fun that comes from playing this great sport. Town of Oyster Bay residents receive a 10% discount on any of the training weeks. Early Arrival and Late Pick-Up are also available.

Meetings Available Online The Town of Oyster Bay, in an effort to further provide residents with more open and accessible government, has begun streaming Town Board meetings live on the internet.

“With the new year upon us, my colleagues and I on the Town Board have made it a priority to provide residents with a Town government that is both more open and more accessible to them, beginning with making Town Board minutes and resolutions available

online,” Supervisor Venditto said. “Streaming Town Board meetings online will offer residents who can’t make it to scheduled Town Board meetings an avenue through which they can remain active and engaged in the workings of their local government.”

Residents will be able to find the live stream located prominently on the Town’s website, www. oysterbaytown.com. The live stream will take place throughout the entirety of the meeting, and will

be paused during short breaks.

Keeping residents informed of the inner workings of their local government, as well as the comments and concerns that residents present to the Town Board during the public comment session will provide valuable insight to our everyday residents who wish to become more engaged in local government.

Ultimately, the Town is pleased to be able to make itself more open and accessible to residents.

It offers entertainment choices for toddlers through high school, including kids who have special needs or are gifted.Over 80 exhibitor spaces and 24 kids’ classes provide valuable information for kids and their parents and grandparents.

Exhibitors will cover schools, camps, after school activities, birthday party ideas, college planning, photography and kids’ products.
