In the past few years, Michele and Mark have helped my family buy and sell five properties and each time they make the process as smooth and easy as it gets. For the homes we sold, knowing the market inside and out, they suggested selling prices beyond our expectations and sure enough, they got them! We couldn’t be more satisfied with this knowledgeable and experienced team that consistently goes above and beyond !” ... KZ Maddox “During our first meeting with Michele we knew immediately she was the person we wanted to help sell our home of 36 years. Every detail of the process was clearly explained to us and executed exactly as proposed. Michele helped us carefully review our offers and pointed out the positives and negatives of each one. In the end we got a terrific price for our home and we were very happy. We highly recommend Michele for her professionalism and many years of real estate knowledge.” ... We applied for a grant of $25,000 in playground equipment to help make Weckerle Park more accessible to all children. Securing that grant depends on your vote.
Our Community includes families with children of varying abilities and many existing playgrounds do not fully meet the needs of children who use mobility devices or require adaptive equipment. An inclusive playground at Weckerle Park will allow children of all abilities to play side by side, fostering understanding, cooperation, confidence, empathy and friendships from early age.
Weckerle Park is named in honor of Lieutenant Edward Weckerle -- a long-time Lindenhurst resident, decorated World War I hero, fire department captain and police lieutenant. The park was dedicated in his honor in November of 1958 when his brother donated the land for the purpose of a park.
Thank you for your support!

Benefits Of Volunteering Volunteering is a great way for individuals to strengthen their communities, but it also can be a unique way for individuals to improve their own overall happiness. A 2020 study published in the Journal of Happiness Studies examined 70,000 participants, each of whom received
surveys that asked questions regarding their volunteering habits and mental health. The study found that, when compared to those who did not volunteer, people who had volunteered in the previous 12 months were more satisfied with their lives and gave their overall health higher ratings.
The frequency of giving back to one’s community also may affect just how much volunteering affects mental health. Study participants who volunteered at least once per month rated their mental health even higher than those who volunteered but did so infrequently.

February 2026 Dear Fellow Chamber Members and Residents of the Massapequa’s, After what felt like an endless stretch of snowstorms and the recent blizzard, I think many of us are more than ready to say goodbye to winter. I’ll admit, I’m definitely someone who prefers the warmer weather, so I’m looking forward to the days ahead when we can trade our snow boots for flip flops and start getting outside again. Having raised my two boys here in Massapequa, some of my favorite memories have always been the community events that bring our neighbors together. As we head into March, the Chamber has already been busy recognizing the people who make our community so special. We recently honored our local heroes at our Annual Firefighters of the Year Awards Luncheon, where we had the privilege of recognizing three outstanding firefighters from the Massapequa and North Massapequa Fire Departments. Their dedication and service to our community are truly commendable, and we thank them for their bravery and commitment. A special thank you to Investment Insight Wealth Management for sponsoring this wonderful event. From the Massapequa Fire Department, Ex-Captain and Department Chaplain Ben Diventi. From the North Massapequa Fire Department, Firefighter John Gennardo and Fire Medic Stephanie Seltzer of Engine Company #3. As we move forward into 2026, we are thrilled to host our Second Annual Massapequa Chamber of Commerce St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The parade kicks off at 11:00am and the route will begin at Broadway and Jerusalem Avenue and proceed south on Broadway to Veterans Boulevard. With just a few short weeks away, we invite all Chamber member businesses, Massapequa schools, and community organizations to march and participate in what we hope will become a cherished annual tradition. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our vibrant community, showcase local pride, and bring residents together in the spirit of unity and festivity. We are honored to have Brian Kilmeade of FOX News, a longtime Massapequa resident, as our Grand Marshal for this special event. Thank you to all of our sponsors, especially our Main Event Sponsor, Embassy Diner, for your generous support in helping make this parade possible. Finally, please mark your calendars for the Annual Massapequa Community Street Festival on Sunday, June 7 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on lower Broadway in Massapequa. This much-anticipated community event features delicious food, great music, exciting prizes, fantastic vendors with unique finds, and fun family activities for all ages. Calling all vendors—don’t miss the opportunity to showcase your business. Bring your friends and family and get ready to make some wonderful community memories. Special thanks to Event Chairperson and Past President Keith Wilson, along with Vice-Chairs Sal Polito and Greg Massimi, for their hard work in organizing this event. On a personal note, we extend our heartfelt condolences to our First Vice President Sal Polito on the passing of his brother, Frank Polito. We also extend our sincere condolences to past board member Howard Ritzer on the loss of his mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with both families during this difficult time. As we continue through 2026, I look forward to a year filled with collaboration, growth, and shared success. As the annual Souper Bowl food drive came to an end on Feb. 6 at Berner Middle School in the Massapequa School District, the preferred team was obvious. The boxes for the Seattle Seahawks were filled significantly higher with donations of nonperishable goods than the boxes for the New England Patriots. The annual charitable drive, organized by the Chiefs Challenge Club, was again a success with hundreds of items donated over the seven-day drive. The school community contributed a variety of food
such as canned vegetables, cereal, pasta, rice and soup. All donations will be given to the Harry Chapin Food Bank at Long Island Cares. As food was brought in each morning, students and staff could place the items in a box representing the team they expected, or wanted, to win the Super Bowl. Chiefs Challenge members helped promote the drive by making posters to hang around the school and sharing facts about hunger on Long Island during the morning announcements. Advisers Caroline Glynn and Juliette Happe said that

Berner Keeps The Ball Moving In The Fight Against Hunger Long Island Cares provided the boxes and also would pick up the donations at the end of the drive. They noted that all of the food benefits local families. “It’s really good that we’re helping people who need it,” said seventh grader Michael Despagno, the Chiefs Challenge treasurer. “It’s really awesome how people showed they care and donated a lot of food.” This year, the Birch Lane Elementary School PTA also joined in, and boxes were placed there for donations.

A GREAT ADVOCATE
EXCELLENT
Knowledgeable trustworthy with full access to my home as our sale was nearly 100% remote we were living in another state. Hard working communicative at all stages of the sale with great guidance at all times. I highly recommend! Posted by (Seller)
Mary Ann was referred to me by a family friend in 2020 and she helped me buy my first home, a two bedroom condo. 5 years later, we reconnected and she helped me sell that same condo for an incredible return while we subsequently purchased this property. Her experience, communication, and insights were invaluable. It is critical to have an advocate while navigating through unfamiliar industries and for real estate you will find no one better than Mary Ann. She is not only a great realtor but has become a wonderful friend as well. Posted by (Buyer)
Mary Ann Murphy came into my life at a time my trust was at an all time low... Selling my house I thought would be impossible with realtors coming at me from all different ways and low balling the sale of my home to benefit themselves I was ready to let go and just give up. Mary Ann’s integrity, honesty and knowledge of the market and her kindness to my situation is something I will never forget. It’s very rare you come across a person in this field that will work for you and not the almighty dollar and what they will get out of it. Mary Ann is a GEM and if you are looking to sell your home and you don’t want the BS she is the right person for you. There is no hidden agenda and I stress, as long as you are honest with her she will be there for you 100%. Mary Ann sold my home with a quick turnaround with no issues the day of Open House which I am very thankful for and will never forget. Posted by PC (Seller)

AMAZING AGENT Mary Ann Murphy worked with my husband and I for over a year to find the perfect home. Once we found our home she helped us get top dollar for our co-op. Mary Ann is knowledgeable about the real estate market and treated us like family. She made the process of buying and selling simultaneously as easy as possible. We are sad our journey with Mary Ann is over. We are forever grateful to her and her team! Posted by (Seller/Buyer)

Mary Ann Murphy “Murph” is a fabulous agent. She got our house sold within the time frame she discussed with us at our first meeting. She was prompt in returning calls and texts too. She went above and beyond our expectations to ensure the sale from start to finish was seamless. We are grateful we chose her as our agent. Posted by (Seller)
