Lifelong Long Islander Obliterates World Record For Pull-Ups Grueling Challenge, Sponsored By FITTEAM, Served As Fundraiser
Lifelong Long Islander and former global esports champion, Doug Censor Martin, shattered the world record for most pull-ups in a 24-hour time period by completing 8,941 pullups in nineteen hours and three minutes – beating the previous record by almost five hours. Martin completed the challenge with a total of 9,250 pull-ups with three hours and thirtysix minutes remaining on the 24-hour clock.
Martin not only beat the previous record of 8,940 pullups by Kenta Adachi of Japan for the 24-hour record, but also surpassed the twelvehour world record of 5,742 pull-ups by two hours.
Martin’s successful planning regimen required a comprehensive approach to nutrition, pull-up pacing strategy and physical and mental training. The new world record equates
to Martin completing approximately:
• 470.5 pull-ups per hour
• 7.8 pull-ups per minute
• 1 pull-up every 7.7 seconds
The event, more than a year in the making through intense physical and mental preparation, took place in Farmingdale at 1 More Rep Athletics & Fitness. Martin battled sleep deprivation, a bicep strain and badly blistered and bruised hands to break the world record.
A former world record holder, Jaxon Italiano, served as Martin’s coach and flew from Australia to personally witness the record-breaking attempt, along with aroundthe-clock support from Martin’s family, friends and fans.
To Find A Cure For Pancreatic Cancer
FITTEAM, a leader in the health and fitness industry, sponsored the event and provided the logistical support, Guiness World Record compliance documentation and live video coverage of the entire 24-hour challenge, allowing fans and supporters to follow every moment of Martin’s historical accomplishment. Video coverage of the world record challenge can be viewed on YouTube channel@FitteamGlobal.
FITTEAM was the sponsor of Martin’s world record challenge, which also served as fundraiser for Project Purple to help find a cure for pancreatic cancer. Martin’s grandmother, who left an indelible impact on his life, succumbed to pancreatic when he was only 12 years old. The challenge has raised almost $9,000.

Lindenhurst VFW Post 7279 Celebrates Re-Opening
The Lindenhurst Veterans of Foreign War Post 7279 recently celebrated their re-opening with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony organized by the Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber, along with several State, County, Town and Village officials, joined Post
Commander Tom Kelly and other VFW Officers to officially commemorate their re-opening (pictured here).
The Wade-Burns Post Hall, located at 560 North Delaware Avenue, had a devastating fire in September 2019, and was forced to close its doors.
Through the generosity, and hard work, of local officials, craftsmen, laborers, VFW members, and the community, the hall was rebuilt, and is now open for use by the VFW membership, Scout troops, community groups, and private rentals.
“Achieving the world record is surreal,” said Martin. “I’ve always believed in pushing myself to the limit, whether it’s in gaming or in life. This world
record is not just about personal achievement but about helping bring more awareness about pancreatic cancer, which took the life of my grandmother. I appreciate the humbling support and assistance from so many people, which made this longtime dream become a reality.”
“We are thrilled to have supported Doug’s truly incredible accomplishment,” said FITTEAM Founder and CEO Chris Hummel. “Doug’s determination and resilience are truly inspiring. His amazing feat brings muchneeded attention to the fight against pancreatic cancer. We are honored to have been part of this successful journey with him.”
