Town of Babylon’s 150th Anniversary Parade
A little rain could not dampen any spirits as the Town of Babylon hosted its long-awaited 150th Anniversary parade! Headed off by Town Historian Mary Cascone and Town of Babylon Parks, the parade included floats dedicated to the history of each hamlet and village that make up the Town. Supervisor Rich Schaffer and the town board led the parade in the 150th commemorative float and stood by in the rain to waive to each hamlet as they marched on by.

Lindenhurst “Shows” Up At JSP’s “Godspell”
LINDENHURST “SHOWS” UP AT JSP’S “GODSPELL” - Lindenhurst made a big “show”-ing at the Babylon United Methodist Church’s James Street Players recent production of “Godspell.” Pictured here (left
Lindenhurst made a big “show”-ing at the Babylon United Methodist Church’s James Street Players recent production
of “Godspell.” Attending a recent matinee of the show -- which was directed by former Lindenhurst School District 4th
Grade Teacher, Ann Kubik, choreographed by Lindenhurst Secretary to the Mayor Katie Schrader, and featured Lindenhurst High School graduate
Meredith Schrader (’22) -- was Lindenhurst Mayor Michael Lavorata, Lindenhurst Administrator Rev. Douglas Madlon, and local Lindenhurst musician Gerry Ferretti. Mayor Lavorata said, “The musicians, actors, and production staff deserve uniform praise for their creativity in bringing the characters and story to life. “Godspell” is truly an ensemble show, and the James Street Players cast really seemed to be having fun and working together as a team.”
Rev. Douglas Madlon said, “This production of “Godspell” has enough heart to warm the hearts of non-believers and cynics. I loved the colorful costumes, choreography, the solos and live band. In short, “Godspell” was one of the best community theater shows I have seen so far this year.”
Her Songs Broke Every Record, Her Story Broke Every Barrier
She was a girl from Boston with a voice from heaven, who shot through the stars from gospel choir to dance floor diva. What the world didn’t know was how Donna Summer risked it all to break through barriers, becoming the icon of an era and the inspiration for every music diva who followed. With a score featuring more than 20 of Summer’s classic hits including “Love to Love You Baby,” “Bad Girls” and “Hot Stuff,” this electric experience is a moving tribute to the voice of a generation.
