slip High School’s Keep Islip Clean club celebrated its 10th annual Pond Day event, engaging in environmental activism and important beautification projects. This year, students continued to rebuild a swale drainage system leading into Pardees Pond next to the school’s tennis courts. A swale filters rainwater from the parking lot before it runs off into the pond. Toxins, pollutants and oil from cars will be removed.
