n recognition of International Peace Day, which was observed on September 21st, second-grade classes at Eastplain Elementary School in the Plainedge School District took part in an international art and literacy project called Pinwheels For Peace. Each child decorated a paper pinwheel with pictures and words to express his or her feelings about peace. The pinwheels were then planted in front of the school.
