The virtual program, featuring Sandeep Kapoor, MD and David Gregory Fagan, MD of Northwell Health, will be held virtually on Tuesday, September 21st from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Event To Give A Boost To The Local Economy & Provide Residents And Visitors With Unique Experience Fall will be better than ever in Nassau County, with County Executive Laura Curran announcing that Old Bethpage Village Restoration (OBVR) will host the iconic Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze® for a second time, after a successful launch last year.

The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze® Long Island will run for 36 selected nights from September 22 through November 7.

New displays this year include an 80-foot circus train--a nod to the 146-year run of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at the nearby Nassau Coliseum, a sea monster and many new creative creatures from under the ocean.

The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze® is also returning for its 17th year to its original location in the Hudson Valley at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson. That location will be open 59 nights from September 17 through November 21 and will feature new displays such as an immersive river walk-through experience

and a New York City streetscape.

The health and safety of our visitors is our highest priority. At both locations, the experience is outdoors and touch-free, and capacity has been reduced to ensure social distancing.

Visitors who are not vaccinated are required to wear masks at all times.

Their mission is to improve the spiritual and temporal conditions of the children, families and people of the communities they serve by providing excellent service to all who come, whether they be rich or poor, high or low social status.

Then you neatly pack your car with the items you would like to share with the community, such as clothing, toys, household items, unexpired nonperishable food and any other items in good/new condition. Clothing must not be ripped, torn, or stained, missing buttons, or broken zippers. If you would like to give gift cards to families you may, but they ask that no cash is given. Also, no large electronics or furniture please.

You can sign up for a two-hour time slot, where they will have the cars set up “trunk-or-treat” style in the parking lot.

Community members will be able to walk around to the different cars and browse. You must stay by your

request.

Tiny Tots Together The Farmingdale United Methodist Church, 407 Main Street, announces the October 2021 opening of TINY TOTS TOGETHER, a new program for children 12-24 months and adults, where an experienced

teacher will lead group activities including art, music, movement fun, story time, free play, snacks and parent support conversations.

The program will run for ten weeks in two

The Road to Victory: Armor Museum’s Rolls Out Its Armor Collection at Old Bethpage Village Restoration open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with last ticket sales at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $15.00 for adults, $12.00 for seniors and children (5-12), under 5 is free. A Parade Of History The Armor Museum hosts an operational collection of over forty armor vehicles including the mighty Hellcat tank destroyer, halftracks, armored cars similar to those that liberated the Nazi death camps, Vietnam era combat vehicles, and the massive M48 Patton tank that would have

confronted Soviet armor in the disastrous event the Cold War became an open conflict.

The museum will also present operational replicas of several enemy vehicles as a dramatic reminder of the powerful forces that have faced America in its historic defense of democracy.

senior health specialist, says that cooking can be good for helping to stave off cognitive decline. Dr. Moore notes that, when cooking, the mind is put to use following a recipe and learning new skills and tasks. Furthermore, cooking for oneself can boost seniors’ selfconfidence, reassuring

them that they can handle an important daily task without having to rely on their family for meals. As long as it is deemed safe (i.e., no sign of cognitive decline or forgetfulness), seniors should be encouraged to continue cooking.
