There is no charge for admission and parking is free. Veterans’ admission begins at 10:00 a.m., while doors for General Admission open at 10:30 a.m. The event runs until 2:00 p.m.
Employers from across Long Island will be seeking candidates for various positions. Some of these include management, licensed professional, hospitality, banking, staffing and technical.
“We have helped thousands of residents find meaningful employment through our career center and private sector jobs fair,” said Supervisor
Saladino. “The Workforce Partnership and the Town of Oyster Bay are committed to helping residents find meaningful employment opportunities as well as assisting local businesses in recruiting qualified employees. This Free Job Fair will connect private and public sector employers with job seekers.”
The Town of Oyster Bay serves as administrator of The Workforce Partnership, a consortium of local governments funded by the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act that provides free valuable resources to both employers and job seekers at Career Centers in Hicksville and Massapequa. These centers help train employees to meet the needs of the private sector, connecting qualified job seekers with employers, and by assisting applicants in accessing job
opportunities. The Centers offer Resource Rooms, which are equipped with state-of-the-art computer workstations, complete with Microsoft software and internet access. Additionally, these Centers offer residents access to job listings, resource materials, photocopiers, fax machines and telephones. The Centers provide employability and computer workshops, as well as career counselors who will guide residents through their job search. Computer workshops are taught on-site in modern computer labs. Residents can increase their marketability by updating or acquiring new computer skills at the Centers.

FREE Mammography Screening Event Friday, March, 24, 2023
On Friday, March, 24, 2023 “Pinky”, the Breast Cancer Screening Bus will be in the Fourth Senatorial District providing FREE mammogram screenings for the community. According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention, each year in the United States, about 264,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women and about 2,400 in men. About 42,000 women and 500 men in the U.S. die each year from breast cancer. Black women have a higher rate of death from breast cancer than White women. 1 in 8 women will develop a form of breast cancer in their lifetime. In Suffolk County alone, there are over 1,300 cases diagnosed every year. Treating breast cancer is most successful when detected early and provides time and options for treatment. Thankfully mammograms are a safe
way to detect breast cancer.
A mammogram is an x-ray image of the breast that doctors use to detect early signs of breast cancer that may not be visible to the naked eye. Prevention and treatment are key to saving lives; therefore, I’d like to personally invite you to our Mobile Mammography
Van For Breast Cancer Screening event on Friday, March 24th, from 9 am to 4 pm at the East Farmingdale Fire Department Parking Lot located at 930 Conklin Street, East Farmingdale, NY 11735.
To be eligible you must:
Be 40 years of age or older.
Not had mammograms performed in the past year.
Not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
Not have implants or breast issues, such as a lump or discharge.
Not have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Have had an office visit
within the past year with a gynecologist, primary care physician or internist who is willing to accept the results of the screening.
If you are between the ages of 35-39, please call to see if you are eligible.
Registration is required. To register or if you have additional medical questions, please call 631638-4135.
On the day of your appointment, please do not wear deodorant, perfume, powders, lotions or creams on or around the breast area. Please bring a photo ID and insurance card, if insured.
If you do not have health insurance, you will be processed through the Cancer Services Program of New York, for eligibility.

Stop & Shop kicks off its annual ‘Help Cure Childhood Cancer’ campaign. Through April 2, Stop & Shop customers in the tri-state area will be able to support MSK Kids, the pediatric program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). The annual fundraiser, which celebrates its 22nd anniversary this year, raises money to support pediatric cancer care, treatment, and research. Stop & Shop has donated more than $28 million to MSK Kids since the partnership began more than two decades ago. It has supported numerous initiatives not only impacting children and families treated at MSK Kids, but also across the globe through development of cellbased therapies and other innovative, life-saving treatments.
Stop & Shop’s Help Cure Childhood Cancer campaign will run in all New York, New Jersey and Southern Connecticut stores and shoppers can donate at checkout by rounding up their total to the nearest dollar or by donating an additional $1, $3, or $5, with 100% of proceeds benefiting MSK Kids.
benefited from donations from companies like Stop & Shop.
The year’s ambassadors are seven-year-old Madison of Cortlandt Manor, NY, and nine-year-old Freja of Fair Haven, NJ.
MSK Kids is dedicated to all children, young adults, and families facing childhood cancer. With specialized expertise and care focused on the individual child, more families turn to MSK Kids for cancer care than any other hospital in the United States. And as pioneers in research, MSK’s physicians and scientists are working to develop and deliver more effective strategies to prevent, treat and cure childhood cancer.
Each class is approximately 50 minutes. The cost of the program is $75 per child who is a Town resident, and $90 per child whose care giver is a Town resident but not the child. The child’s birth certificate and a tax or utility bill will be required to validate age and proof of residency. A guardian must be present during the class. The child MUST be 3 years old by the start of the program.
The Toddler Sports Program is run by the Town’s Parks Department, Recreation Division. For further information, please call (516) 797-7945.

This event will bring together generations of Girl Scouts and Girl Scout supporters to celebrate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and what it has meant to Girl Scouts for over 100 years. Tickets to the event are available for purchase at www.gsnc.org/ legacy, and all proceeds will go toward enhanced Girl Scout programming to ensure we continue the legacy of building girls of courage, confidence and character.
“The Legacy Brunch will truly be an inspiring event, as Girl Scouts share experiences, showcase its rich history, and bring the Girl Scout experience to life for the community,” said Randell Bynum, the CEO of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Part of Girl Scouts delivering on its mission, is connecting girls with successful role models who have been where they are today, so they can see the possibilities, and our four honorees, personify what it means to be true champions for our Girl Scouts.

Even If You’re Little You Can Do A Lot
Matilda Wormwood has astonishing wit, intelligence... and special powers! The Howitt Middle School Players proudly premiered their rendition of Roald Dahl’s Matilda on Wednesday, March 8th, to Farmingdale schools’ fifth-grade elementary students. The production’s music, choreography, acting, sets, scenery, and technical elements were top-notch due to the dedication and passion of Farmingdale staff members and students. The audience was thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.
Durso Rallies With Highway Crews For Local Street And Highway Funding
Assemblyman Michael Durso (R-Massapequa Park) joined highway crew members and highway superintendents from all corners of the state for a rally in Albany to increase funding in this year’s budget to repair and repave local streets, highways and culverts. The rally focused on funding for the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS), which Gov. Hochul refused to increase in her executive budget proposal.
“As a former sanitation worker and municipal employee, I’ve seen how hard our highway crews work, day and night, to keep up with the endless potholes and terrible conditions of our local streets. They’re doing their part and Albany needs to step up and do theirs,” Durso said.
The New York State Association of County Highway Superintendents and New York State Association of Town Superintendents of Highways, Inc. recently launched a ‘Local Roads are Essential’ advocacy campaign which coincides with today’s effort by legislators.
“Our taxes are sky high and settling for deficient bridges and cracked highways is unacceptable. Our families deserve peace of mind commuting to work and our businesses need dependable infrastructure when transporting their goods to market. I am calling on Gov. Hochul and leaders in both houses to join us and increase CHIPS funding in this year’s budget,” Durso concluded.

Labriola Announces New Co-Ed Pickleball Program
Oyster Bay Town Councilman Steve Labriola invites residents to take part in a new co-ed pickleball program, beginning April 4th at the Town of Oyster Bay’s Hicksville Athletic Center, located at 167 Broadway in Hicksville. Pickleball is available to individuals 18 years of age or older and offered for 10 weeks long and held on both Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7am to 9:30am.
Councilman Labriola stated, “Pickleball continues to be a growing sport in our communities and this program will provide an
even greater opportunity for fans to participate. Pickleball is a fun and social sport provides a great healthy activity for the whole family.”
Online registration is now available at www.oysterbaytown. com/parksportal. Space is limitedfirst come, first serve. Registration will close when the program reaches full capacity. Fees are $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents. Proof of residency requires individuals to upload a tax or utility bill and valid photo ID. Participants must provide their own racket.
Pickleball is a fun sport for all ages, played with a wooden paddle and lightweight plastic ball. The sport combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong and can include two, three or four players. It shares similarities to other racquet sports. The dimensions and layout closely resemble a badminton court, which is considerably smaller than a tennis court and rules of the game are somewhat similar to tennis.
