The Allstate Foundation recently gifted United Way of Long Island with a $10,000 Helping Hands Grant. The contribution came as a result of a team of Allstate employees initiating a volunteer project with United Way of Long Island’s Stuff-A-Bus program.

The employees who were from multiple Allstate locations, including Lynbrook, Levittown, Farmingdale, Syosset and Melville, combined their volunteer efforts by collecting a wide range of school supplies through an online giving wish list supporting Stuff-A-Bus. Distributed to Long Island school districts, these items are critical to helping young students succeed, especially for children who come from least advantaged families.

Allstate Exclusive Agent, Matthew Parmiter commented, “Allstate encourages agents to give

back to the communities where we live and work. I’m proud to have coordinated a team of local Allstate agents to help local school children with supplies they need.”

The funding received from this grant will be allocated to United Way’s Long Island Impact Fund, further demonstrating Allstate’s commitment to neighboring families.

Farmingdale Students Shine At Art Competition the students,” asserted David Rolnick, President of the Board of CCENC. “We are grateful to their teacher Ms. Barbara Ginexi for encouraging their participation in this competition.”

The students are currently freshmen at Farmingdale High School but were eighth-graders in Ms. Barbara Ginexi’s art class at Howitt Middle School when they created their pieces. These six artists were selected to appear in the CCENC 2022 Gardening Calendar and Guide and

were also featured in the “art in the garden” tour during the Family Fun Day celebration, held in October. Adrianna De Marco received a Gold Award for her artwork featured in September, Jaylun Umana received a Bronze award and is featured in May. Valeria Romero, Alessandra Gavarrete, Rakel Rodriguez, and Katie Hecker all received a Silver Award for their artwork which appears in a colorful collage on the back of the calendar.

The Town of Oyster Bay hosted its 2022 Induction Ceremony with the swearing-in of Supervisor Joseph Saladino, Councilwoman Michele Johnson, Councilman Lou Imbroto, Councilman Tom Hand and Town Clerk Rich LaMarca.

“This great team has stood before you promising a new term that would be like no other – and boy, did we get that wish.

We committed to using every talent and skill to guide this Town safely and professionally and overcome every challenge, and that’s exactly what we did when faced with the largest challenge in a century. While we continue to battle this pandemic, we have set a course which has become a template for others, and dealing with the pandemic was just the beginning,” Supervisor Saladino stated.

returned fiscal stability and trust to the Town of Oyster Bay, turning a $44 million deficit into a $47 million surplus, all while cutting taxes.

“We take great pride in these accomplishments, but it is the evolution to the finest services our Town has ever seen that makes us most proud,” continued Supervisor Saladino. “We delivered the promise to protect your way of life, improved our parks, our infrastructure and your experience in this most beautiful Town. To magnify this accomplishment, we did it while cutting and freezing taxes four years in a row. And you don’t have to take my word for it – two independent Wall Street firms have recognized our efforts with six bond rating upgrades while our residents see new roads, and our businesses see a new path to success which includes same-day permits, and a new user-friendly

Town.

“The new day in the Town of Oyster Bay is far from sunset. We’ve attracted many new companies and job opportunities to our Town.

We’ve made great strides in downtown revitalization, investment in our infrastructure including roadways and improving services. Our vision for the future includes great improvements and a continuation of investment in road repaving, more downtown revitalization, the ongoing protection and restoration of TOBAY Beach, the remediation of the Grumman Navy Plume and overall preservation of our roadways, expansion of our local parks and environmental facilities.

Those areas include social interaction, communication skills and cognitive function. four times as often in boys than it is in girls. Roughly 40 percent of children with autism do not speak, but parents whose children speak between the ages of 12 and 18 months should know that such youngsters can still ultimately be diagnosed with autism. In such instances, the NAA notes that children lose the words they previously learned. Incidences of

autism appear to be on the rise, though the reasons for that remain unclear.

According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the prevalence of autism had risen to one in every 59 children by 2018.

That’s twice as great as the rate in 2004, when the CDC reported one in 125 children were diagnosed with autism.

Banners bearing the nominated individual’s name, rank, photograph and area of service will be unveiled throughout selected park facilities across the Town of Oyster Bay in the months leading up to Veterans Day in November 2022.

Any interested individual or organization who would wish to sponsor a banner can remit $75 to sponsor the production of a banner.

No profit is made from this program. Once the banners are displayed, the Town will maintain the banners, and will remain on display until Veterans Day, where they will then be taken down to avoid any inclement winter weather and returned to the service family or their loved ones.

Those who sponsored a banner last year are reminded to submit a new application in order to be included in the 2022 season. Applications must be received by March 11, 2022.

Supervisor Saladino added, “This is an especially meaningful way to honor those who bravely and selflessly served our nation.
