In honor of National Patriot Day and following the Pledge of Allegiance, schools throughout Babylon School District played “The Star-Spangled Banner” or “God Bless America” during morning announcements and paused for a moment of silent reflection. “There were many heroes who helped to save many lives on September 11th, 2001,” said Babylon Grade School Principal Steven Goldberg. “Today is a day when people all across our great nation remember their heroic efforts and recognize the men and women in our own communities who continue to serve and keep us safe.” Babylon Superintendent of Schools Linda Rozzi added, “The day reflected honoring the acts of courage that were displayed, the people who helped one another and the sense of humanity that was demonstrated.”
