he program, called Pennies for Patients, was a service learning, character education and philanthropy program that afforded students the chance to make a difference by working to provide aid to those fighting blood cancers like leukemia. The students collected monetary donations from family and friends and charted their progress on a school chart. Babylon Memorial Grade School raised a total of $2,100.
