Assemblyman Durso Announces Annual Pet Food Drive

New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso (Massapequa Park), in coordination with Long Island Cares, is inviting the community to participate in his annual Pet Food Drive to help families keep

their pets out of shelters and remain at home where they belong.

Assemblyman Durso is asking residents, community organizations and pet lovers to kindly donate unopened bags of

dog and cat food, canned pet food and pet supplies. All items collected will be donated to Baxter’s Pet Pantry, operated by Long Island Cares, which provides free pet food and pet supplies to petowning families in need throughout Long Island. Donations can be dropped off at Assemblyman Durso’s district office located at

512 Park Boulevard in Massapequa Park or at various other locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties through April 5, 2024. For more information, call Durso’s office at 516-541-4598.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Trustees of Babylon Public Library, Town of Babylon, County of Suffolk, State of New York will be held at the Babylon Public Library, 24 S. Carll Avenue, Babylon, New York in said District on, March 26, 2024, at 6:30 P.M., for the purpose of discussing expenditures contained in the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2024–2025. On Thursday, February 29, 2024, the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce conducted its first membership meeting with the new 2024 Board Members. Surprisingly, we had an outstanding attendance from many supporters from the Babylon Village Chamber. It warmed my heart to see that so many individuals genuinely care about the success of our quaint little Village. The show of support at times became emotionally overwhelming but wholeheartedly accepted. I want to begin by thanking the determination of the 2024 board, who have shared so much of their individual time and effort to get us where we are today. As a volunteer organization, these individuals have gone above and beyond the scope of volunteerism. A couple of individuals couldn’t attend but sent

someone in their place or ZOOMED-in, which shows their level of commitment. I want to thank Mayor Mary Adams for taking the time from her busy schedule to express her support for the Chamber and encouraging our board to move forward, always gracious, and attentive to the happenings in Babylon Village. Joseph Papadopilo, owner of Mack’s, and his staff did an outstanding job hosting our meeting and attending to our guests, excellent service, and delicious food. Finally, I thank our Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce members who showed solidarity in creating the strong bonds needed to sustain our organization and our community as a whole.
