Long Island Cars “Super Swap Sunday” Car Show & Swap Meet

On Sunday September 11th “Long Island Cars” Car Show & Swap Meet returns to the LICH Amphitheater at Bald Hill in Farmingville. Hundreds of classic and collectible automobiles ranging from stock to chopped and modified vehicles including street rods, muscle cars, antiques, exotics and imports will be on display at this competitively judged event with over fifty classes and trophies. This popular show also includes “Long Island’s Largest Swap Meet” where vendors will be selling auto parts, fenders, tires, auto accessories, literature and an assortment of collectibles. Check out the “Car Corral” where cars will be offered for sale by their owners. There will be live music by “The Fugitives” plus food and refreshments. In a collaborative effort between Splish Splash Water Park and Jovia Financial Credit Union, 100 children, parents and caregivers were given free admission to the water park on August 16, 2022. In addition, each event attendee was provided with a voucher to purchase food and drinks within the park. The children and their families met representatives of Splish Splash and Jovia at the park for a photo before they entered the park for a carefree day of fun and adventure.Inplanning this special event, Splish Splash and Jovia partnered with two local not-for-profit children’s organizations. Seventy-five of the event’s attendees were chosen by KiDS NEED MORE (Motivational Recovery Environments, Inc.), a charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, families and young adults coping with life-threatening illness and trauma, which is based in Amityville. The other 25 attendees were chosen by La de Justicia Foundation, an organization which provides educational and support services to underserved youth and their families to develop strong, educated, and visionary communities in Suffolk County.

“SCATTERING CJ” - “Scattering CJ” tells the moving story of a family who turned tragedy into a community of support for suicide survivors, beginning with an online request to scatter the ashes of a young veteran who dreamed of travelling. CJ Twomey is pictured in the photo at the pyramids of Giza.
