Getting Into The Spirit
F
irst, second and third-graders at Northwest Elementary School in Amityville got into the spirit of Memorial Day by wearing red, white and blue in their respective grades on May 21st. Just before the Memorial Day break, the students gathered in the school’s gymnasium and lined up to form the shape of the American flag. The event was a culmination of lessons taught throughout the week. Pictured are some of the participants.
