A field that merges the efficacy of science with the uniqueness of art is architecture. I have always been fascinated by the complex forms of structures, the cultural influences that motivate such creations and the perfect synthesis of different materials and colours to create an enduring work of art. In essence, what intrigues me the most is the process of transforming rough visions into miraculous reality. Conceptualizing my ideas in the third dimension helps me broaden my perspective and have an open-minded outlook. Since my parents are architects by profession, I have always seen them pour their hearts and souls into every project they undertook. Thus architecture had made its way into even the most minor aspects of my life before I could even know what it was. The more I was exposed to the engaging work of this domain through my parents; I developed more affinity to this choice of field. Hence, I would describe my journey of deciding my intended major not as a moment of self-realization but as a series of captivating opportunities and sub-conscious endorsement. From this course, I wish to gain as much exposure as I can concerning the different forms, types, styles, cultural and generational influences, sustainable designs and socio-psychological effects of architecture. I wish to study this course for a comprehensive scope of designing technology that will help me in the long run for future studies, careers or research. To encapsulate, I look at this field of study as a base for me to materialize my ideas and aspirations through dynamic design and structured organization.
