LAMP 2021 (organized by Design Milk & Lamp) (International lighting design competition) CONCEPT STATEMENT: Agal- Envisioned as an amalgamation of two traditional Indian forms – The Kuthuvilakku ( a south Indian lamp) and the Lotus to create a floor lamp, that transcends and invokes multifarious emotions when placed in any given space. The slender central brass stem that supports the luminescent finial element manifests the lightness in design. The light from the alabaster diffuser highlights the lacquered lotus engraving which makes the light float in any given space. This contemporary design expression of an indigenous way of illuminating a space to bring light thereby removing darkness is Agal.

Holder (hyperbolic shaped) – Teakwood finish, Height- 780 mm, Día- 39mm Head: Diffuser -Alabaster– 63 mm(H) *198 mm dia.(W) *198 mm dia.(H) sandwiched between two Wooden plates. Light - 8V–300K, 90 CRI LED chips controlled by trailing and leading edge, TRIAC dimmable controller, Input via 3pin cable+3 core nylon braided wire+ inline rotary dimmer footswitch.
