Neev Academy - Admission Policy Ⅰ. Neev Philosophy on Admission A diverse student body enriches the school community and provides a wealth of experiences and resources. A thorough education encompasses the development of qualities such as compassion, tolerance, and respect for the rights and cultures of all people, as well as the skills for peaceful conflict resolution and the cultivation of shared environmental responsibility. Schools should prepare young people to provide leadership to meet the global challenges of the 21st century. The IB has a consistent philosophy about teaching and learning that focuses on the development of the whole child, with an overarching concept of how to develop international-mindedness. The programme emphasises intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth, involving the traditions of learning in languages, humanities, sciences, mathematics, and the arts. At Neev Academy, we offer two senior school pathways the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-Related Programme (CP) both of which reflect our commitment to developing internationally minded, reflective, and purposeful learners prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the world beyond school. We foster an atmosphere of academic excellence and encourage intellectual inquiry and critical thinking. Achievement in the physical, expressive, and creative arts is an essential part of our holistic approach to education. We believe our school is a community, and social awareness, thoughtful interactions, and effective communication among students, parents, and staff are fundamental to its well-being. This policy aligns with the IB Programme Standards and Practices (2023) and the IB Access and Inclusion Principles.
Ⅱ. IB Standards and Practices Our Admissions policy has been aligned with the new IB Standards and Practices. Please note the related standards below. Culture 1: The school secures access to an IB education for the broadest possible range of students. (0301-01) Culture 6: The school implements, communicates, and regularly reviews its IB-mandated policies to ensure they are cohesive and reflect IB philosophy. (0301-06)
Ⅲ. Link between the Admission policy and other policies Link to Academic Honesty Policy At the beginning of the admission process, students applying for the IB Diploma Programme or Career-Related Programme, and their parents, receive a copy of the relevant IB General Regulations. For DP applicants, Clauses 3.3 and 3.4 of Article 3 are discussed and explained to parents. The admission applicant’s previous academic record is reviewed to ensure the student has not been involved in any form of academic malpractice. In the event of a record of academic misconduct, Neev Academy may, at its sole discretion, decide not to grant admission.
3
At the time of admission, students and parents must sign the relevant Academic Honesty Contract - Appendix 1 for DP students and Appendix 2 for CP students.
Link to Assessment Policy During the admission process, entrance assessments are aligned with the assessment expectations for the IB programmes. The entrance assessment is based on criterion referencing and not norm referencing, which is a key feature of assessment in the IB programmes. Please refer to the Neev Academy Assessment Policy for further details.
Link to Inclusion Policy Students who have special needs or show a gap in their academic performance are assessed for the level of intervention that might be required to make their learning journey in Neev a meaningful one. Further, at the time of admission to the Diploma Programme, or Career -Related Programme, course selections and considerations for undertaking the full Diploma will be made in consultation between DPC/ CPC, Head of School, Parents and Student. Please refer to the Inclusion policy for further details.
Link to Language Policy The entrance assessment includes a language component. For applicants to the Diploma Programme and Career-Related Programme, the language assessment gauges the level of language proficiency of students. Neev Academy has limited provision for intensive language learning support in the last two years of Secondary School. Please refer to the Language Policy for further details.

Desirable Profile of Students (PYP, MYP/ICSE and DP/CP) In order to assess suitability for admission, each student’s application is carefully studied. We look for students who: ● Are open-minded, motivated, and determined ● Demonstrate a keen interest in co-curricular activities such as sports, visual arts, music, and drama ● Make an effort to the best of their ability ● Demonstrate good conduct and are respectful to others ● Work hard and are resilient ● Approach tasks with a sense of purpose ● Demonstrate self-discipline and responsibility ● Learn from fellow students as well as teachers ● Share with and contribute to the community Previous experience with IB programmes can be an advantage but is not a prerequisite for admission. For students applying to the CP, we additionally look for those who have a clear sense of vocational interest or career direction, are motivated to connect their learning to real-world professional contexts, and are ready to engage meaningfully with community and industry as part of their programme. Admissions Committee The Admissions Committee is composed of the Head of School, Senior School Head, one Admissions Coordinator, and the relevant Programme Coordinator (MYPC / DPC / CPC). The CP Coordinator (CPC) is a standing member of the committee for all CP-related admissions. Additional members of staff are consulted as needed. Each member reviews application forms in turn, and comments and recommendations are circulated.
6
Decision-making Process Following assessment and review by the admissions team, the student applicant may receive a call or email for a final interview. Parents are required to accompany students for the interview and meeting with the Head of School and/or Programme Head. The final decision on all applications rests with the Head of School. Next Steps After Decision Once the admission decision has been made, the Enrolment Contract is sent to the parents. Parents must review and return the signed contract and pay the fees within the specified timeline to confirm the seat. On receipt of payment and the signed enrolment contract, the admission process is deemed complete.
Ⅴ. Programmewise Specifications A. Transitioning from PYP to MYP / ICSE During the transition from PYP (Grade 5) to middle school, parents may choose to continue with the IB programme (MYP) or opt for the ICSE programme. To support informed decision-making, the school conducts orientation sessions for parents of Grades 4 and 5, outlining the philosophy, structure, and assessment approach of both programmes. The sessions highlight key differences and important considerations. The final decision rests with the parent.
B. Admission to DP / CP Neev Academy encourages all students — whether internal or external — to pursue the full Diploma Programme or Career-Related Programme and does not intend to admit students for individual DP courses only. In the case of students with special needs, the decision regarding full programme or individual course enrolment will be taken on a case-by-case basis in consultation with students, parents, the Neev Inclusion team, DPC/CPC, and HOS. The decision of the HOS (in consultation with DPC/CPC) will be considered final.
C. For External Students (other than Neev MYP/ICSE) to DP/CP The programme is open to students applying from schools other than Neev MYP. The completed application form with all required documents must be submitted to the Admissions office within the specified timeline. For students not pursuing STEM subjects, the assessment includes a written piece of approximately 500 words on a given topic. Students applying for Group 6 subjects (Theatre / Film / Visual Arts) also write an essay of no more than 400 words explaining their interest. All applicants participate in a one-on-one interaction with subject teachers and/or HODs and a group discussion. For students pursuing STEM subjects, the above is supplemented by entrance tests in Mathematics and Science. Following assessments, applicants meet with the DPC/CPC and school counsellor. Parents also meet the DPC/CPC and counsellor on the same day. The entire process will not exceed 4 hours over 2 days.
7
D. For Internal Students (existing MYP/ICSE) to DP/CP Grade 9 and Grade 10 term-end reports are reviewed by the academic team. Based on this review, the team , in consultation with subject teachers, HODs, Career Counsellor, student, and parents ,recommends Standard and Higher Level subjects. A student must pass Grade 10 on all fronts to be eligible for the DP or CP at Neev.
E. For Admission to CP The IBCP is a rigorous two-year pre-university programme for students between the ages of 15 and 19, equivalent to Grades 11 and 12 in India. An applicant must have completed Grade 10 from an ICSE, CBSE, IB MYP, IGCSE, or other recognised international curriculum. Students accepted into the CP are requested to indicate their subject preferences in the admission form. The student must choose three DP courses at HL, or two HL and two SL courses from those offered at Neev Academy. Students must note that the IBCP Program consists of the following: I.Modules of Career Related Studies (e.g. Business Administration/ Artificial Intelligence/arts/sports/hospitality) II.DP subjects – three Higher level (HL) subjects comprising 240 hours for each, or two Higher level and two Standard level (SL) subjects comprising 150 hours each, must be opted for. III.Compulsory Core Components comprising: a. Personal and Professional Skills b. Reflective Project c. Community Engagement d. Language and Cultural Studies
VI. Further Steps After Admissions A. Orientation Meeting (PYP and MYP/ICSE) This is scheduled anytime before the child’s first day at school. Both parents and the child are required to attend the meeting with the class teacher.
B. Orientation Meeting (DP/CP) This is scheduled within one to two weeks of the proposed arrival of Grade 11 students. The CP orientation includes a dedicated session on the four core components of the CP - Personal and Professional Skills (PPS), the Reflective Project, Community Engagement, and Language and Cultural Studies — so that students and parents understand the expectations and timelines from the outset. The Career-Related Studies pathway (e.g. Business Administration or Artificial Intelligence) is also explained in detail during this session.

VII. Provisions for Special Needs (PYP, MYP/ICSE and DP/CP) Students who have special needs or show a gap in their academic performance are assessed for the level of intervention required to make their learning journey at Neev a meaningful one. The support needed, along with curriculum interventions and infrastructural adjustments, must be feasible for the school to provide. The choice of DP/CP course versus the full programme will be made in consultation between DPC/CPC, Head of School, Parents, and Student. Please refer to the Inclusion Policy for further details. Students who require modifications or adjustments to learning and/or assessment will need a documented intervention and an Individualised Education Plan (IEP). Neev requires appropriate assessments and documentation from parents to proceed with arrangements for modifications or adjustments under IB (MYP and DP/CP) and ICSE regulations Students who require modifications or adjustments to learning and/or assessment will need a documented intervention and an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) to receive modifications or adjustments to the assessment process of the IB(MYP & DPD) and ICSE. Appendix 1 — Academic Honesty Contract (Diploma Programme) The Diploma Programme at Neev Academy endeavours to develop in each member of its community the characteristics and traditions reflected in the IBO and the school’s Mission statement. Among the values of a Neev Academy education are academic honesty and independence in learning. The temptation to engage in academically dishonest practices has been greatly increased by the easy availability of information on the web and by peer and societal pressure. Neev Academy strives to help students in their pursuit of integrity. Ethical academic practice helps students benefit from learning the skills and knowledge required for future success and helps them avoid the serious consequences of academic dishonesty.
