The Nebraska Section PGA has announced a new partnership with Wilson Sporting Goods ahead of the 2024 season. The new partnership will be an effort to recognize Nebraska PGA Professionals going above and beyond in both growing the game of golf and furthering their own education through the PGA Lifelong Learning model.

The mission statement of Wilson Sporting Goods Co. is to ignite the true potential in every athlete, and no one does it better than PGA Professionals when it comes to growing the game of golf.

Wilson Sporting Goods Co. will be the Title Sponsor of the Nebraska PGA Monthly Game Ball. These custom game balls will be presented to one Nebraska PGA Member each month for their contributions to ignite their true passion into growing the game at the grass roots level.

Our inaugural Wilson Sporting Goods Monthly Game Ball was awarded to future PGA of America President Don Rea, PGA! We really appreciate him attending and speaking at our Spring Meeting.

In addition to the Wilson Sporting Goods Monthly Game Balls, Nebraska PGA Members who have furthered their career and education through the PGA Lifelong Learning model will receive a customized Louisville Slugger bat.

Since 1884, Louisville Slugger has been synonymous with America’s pastime and the trusted bat for baseball players who have created life changing moments for their career at the plate. The partnership will bring that same mindset to the golf course for our Nebraska PGA Professionals that are “slugging” their way through the PGA Lifelong Learning model. Kurt Karcher, PGA received the first Louisville Slugger for completing his Specialization in Golf Operations.

Nominations for the Wilson Sporting Goods Monthly Game Balls will begin on the 1st of each month and will close at 11:59 PM on the 15th of each month. Each winner will get a shout out on all our social media channels and in the monthly newsletter. The Nebraska PGA Professionals that complete the PGA Lifelong Learning model will be highlighted with the Louisville Slugger presentation at our Spring and Fall Nebraska PGA Annual Meetings.

PGA Compensation Profile

Five minutes now can pay dividends for you and your fellow professionals in 2024

And just like that the 2024 season is upon us. I hope you all had a wonderful winter with a chance to reflect, recharge and prepare for the upcoming season. As I look back on the past two seasons, I can’t help but feel deep gratitude for the connections and support I have received from the NEPGA membership.

Having each other's back is one of the shared values we live by at the PGA, and no one embodies this better than the PGA Professionals in the Nebraska Section. Last year when I asked for your support in completing the compensation survey, you stepped up without hesitation and helped exceed a lofty goal of completions.

Through these completions you not only helped the Section achieve additional funding, but your data helped secure significant compensation increases for your fellow professionals and new hires in the Nebraska Section.

I am asking for your support to raise the bar even higher for 2024. Please take a few moments to complete the compensation survey at the link below. Having the most relevant and real time data is the number one tool I have when assisting professionals through negotiations, as well as when working with club leadership to develop compensation packages.

The PGA REACH Nebraska Foundation is excited to announce that Amber Bogle will serve as Nebraska PGA’s first PGA WORKS Fellow. The PGA WORKS Fellowship program offers individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds the opportunity to gain experience in all facets of the golf industry. It provides a one-year, paid immersion in the Foundation’s operations.

Amber is a 12-year military veteran whose golf journey started when she participated in the PGA HOPE Nebraska program in 2023. After the 6-week program for veterans was over, golf quickly became her favorite sport. Her passion for golf and serving people became evident when she continued to stay engaged with the PGA HOPE program. Amber was selected to be a member of Nebraska’s first-ever PGA HOPE Squadron, whose mission is to strategically enhance and grow the PGA HOPE Nebraska program by working together as a veteran-led group. The start of a new season of PGA Jr. League is sure to spark a few questions for parents and guardians, whether their players have participated before or are brand new to the program. Most questions will likely focus on practices and games, but others like wrong-sized jerseys will require help from the PGA Jr. League support team. Please encourage parents to reach out directly to the support team rather than directly to a Player Engagement Consultant by using the blue chat bubble at the bottom right corner of PGAJrLeague.com
