New Season‌..

New Look!

Nebraskajuniorgolf.com

Dear Nebraska Junior Golfers: Earlier this year we announced that we are re-branding our Junior Golf Program. We are excited to share our new look with you and all of the exciting changes for the year . Our program previously known as NJGT (Nebraska Junior Golf Tour) will now be called: With the growth and added programs over the past few years, we have become more than a “Golf Tour. Nebraska Junior Golf will be an umbrella organization for all junior programs run by the NGA and Nebraska PGA, and will include an avenue to other opportunities for juniors to learn and play the game throughout the Section. Like most re-branding projects, this process will take a couple of seasons to get completely transitioned. For 2018, we are launching our new logos, website, and focusing on promoting the newly restructured program. We will transition all our signage, equipment, and other materials over the next two seasons. We hope to have everything transitioned with our new logo/brand by the start of the 2019 season. Check out our new logos below! We are very excited about where our Junior Golf Program is going and we are so excited you are along for the ride! All of this could not be done without your support and the support of all of our sponsors. I look forward to working with all of you this season. See you on the tee!

The 18-hole division championship will be hosted at Fremont Golf Club for 2018. A beautiful, traditional, parkland style golf course. It is known for its narrow, treelined fairways and sloping slick greens. The course is challenging for the better player and, at the same time, playable and enjoyable for the average player. Golfers will earn points through July 25th which will position them for an invite to the NJGT Championship. Invitation figures will be posted on the points page of nebraskajuniorgolf.com on July 1st. Course Handicap™ Explained Q. What does a Course Handicap represent? A. A Course Handicap represents the number of strokes needed to play to the level of a scratch golfer—or the Course Rating™ of a particular set of tees. A Course Handicap is expressed as a whole number (e.g. 12). Course Handicap is determined by using charts located at the golf course where the round is to be played. In addition, a Course Handicap can be calculated by these methods: Course Handicap Calculator: http://www.usga.org/playing/handicaps/calculator/course_handicap_calculator.asp The USGA Handicap System Reference Guide: http://www.usga.org/playing/handicaps/understanding_handicap/Handi_Ref_Manual.pdf Formula: Handicap Index® multiplied by Slope Rating® of tees played, divided by Standard Slope Rating (113) = Answer (rounded to nearest whole number, .4 rounds down and .5 rounds up) Example: 10.4 Handicap Index x 125 Slope Rating / 113 Standard Slope Rating = 11.5 = 12 Course Handicap

Please visit Sections 3-3 and 10-4 of the USGA Handicap System manual for further reference.
