The transformational building is a symbol of the future of the organization and the game of golf. The facility at PGA Frisco, located 30 miles north of Dallas, fosters a spirit of collaboration and fun, while inspiring PGA Professionals that visit the PGA Frisco campus for years to come.
Led by PGA President Jim Richerson and PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh, PGA Members and key stakeholders celebrated the formal opening of the innovative 106,621 square foot building at PGA Frisco that will serve as the home of the PGA Professional.

I hope everyone is well and looking forward to turning the page to Fall golf in Nebraska. It has been another busy season at our facilities so I hope you can get a chance to enjoy some time with your families and football as the days get shorter. I just returned from our late summer board and committee meetings down in Frisco, Texas at the new home of the PGA of America. The campus is coming alive and hope to share some experiences with you below plus update you on a national member benefit.
The new home of the PGA of America is up and running and this was my first time inside the headquarters. We had an opening ceremony attended by close to 600 people from around the country (PGA Professionals, PGA staff, Omni Resort representatives and the city of Frisco) so it was truly a special day to see the doors open to the world. The first floor is dedicated to telling the story of the PGA and associate education, floors 2 and 3 are staff offices with the 4th floor open to meeting space and entertainment.
PAGE 12 Nebraska PGA News August 2022
The 4th floor also has a very large observation deck that looks over the entire property. It’s hard to put in words the pride you will feel as you visit over the coming years and show off to your members, friends, or family. We held our board meetings at headquarters during the week and had a chance to meet several associates that were attending their Level 2 or Level 3 programming on the first floor. The rest of the 600 acre property continues to move along with the goal of opening the golf courses and resort some time in March of 2023. There are over 1,000 workers on site each day putting the finishing touches on this truly transformational destination for golf. The PGA District entertainment venues are coming out of the ground and will consist of the PGA Coaching center, the 500 room Omni Resort and spa, the swing (lighted short course), the dance floor (putting course), ranch houses (on site lodging) and the Fields Ranch clubhouse for golf. They are also busy hiring golf staff and looking forward to hosting the first major in May of 2023 which will be the Senior PGA ChampionIship.would also like to update you on an exciting future member benefit called Deferred Compensation. This was discussed at the national Fall meeting last November and we are starting to see the details come together as the staff and committee have been hard at work over the past year. This program will be a chance to put money back in your pocket if you choose to sign up for the program and create dollars for retirement. The first step was to have this approved by the IRS and now they are on the details of how to sign up and earn dollars through a point system. The point system establishes the points earned by a member for each of the eligible programs or activities that lead to growing the game. Look for more information to come out in November at the annual meeting with registration being accepted some time around the PGA Show in January.
Dear Nebraska PGA Members & Associates:
Thank you for letting me serve as your District 8 Director and look forward to seeing everyone at the Fall GregSincerely, meeting.Neujahr, PGA District 8 Director

Golf etiquette demands that a player who makes a hole in one buys drinks for everyone in the clubhouse on the day. Stevenson said: “In that respect, I was lucky it was the end of member preview week, and the course was very quiet. It only cost me about $120 as a result. If it had been Monday or Tuesday when it was packed, I’d have been out a lot more cash!”
HOMER, NEBRASKA, AUGUST 30, 2022 Local golfer Justin Stevenson has made the first hole in one at the new Landmand golf course in Eastern Nebraska, during the members' preview week. The course opens to the public this Saturday, Sepember 3.

Member Justin Stevenson makes ace during preview week at new Nebraska course.
Stevenson aced the par three twelfth hold at Landmand on Saturday August 20. He said: “I was playing with friends at the end of the preview week, my first time round. The course was really quiet that day – it was almost as though we had it to ourselves. Even before that, it was a special day. On the long par three fifth hole, my buddy Jon Rait had laid up off the tee – we all trashtalked him for doing so – and he was in what seemed an impossible spot, in thick grass with railroad sleepers in front of him. Another of the group said ‘I’m going to video this’, so he did, and Jon promptly chipped in. So there was quite a lot of adrenalin in the group.”
A little later, the group arrived on the tee of the twelfth hole said by architect Rob Collins to have the best view on the course, with thirteen holes in view. Stevenson said: “The pin was right at the front of the green, tucked behind a little hill. We were 163 yards away, but with the wind in our faces, we weren’t sure how long it was playing. I was lucky, because I was the last to play. The first to hit thought it was playing about 190 yards, and went long, so I clubbed down from a six to a seven. I knew I had hit a good shot, and expected to find it close, but we couldn’t see the bottom of the pin from the tee, so I didn’t know exactly where it was. We got to the green, and there was no ball in sight, and one of my buddies said ‘Well, that’s a hole in one!’ I was carrying my putter and a wedge, just in case, and since then I’ve taken a lot of heat for carrying two clubs onto the green when the ball was in the hole! It wasn’t until I was really close to the hole that I could see the ball was in there. It was surreal. My first ace, on my first round at a new course. My buddies and I went crazy.”

BECOME A CHAMPION
Since 2013, PGA REACH Nebraska, the charitable arm of the Nebraska Section PGA, has been positively impacting lives through programming and the game of golf. In a partnership with the Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Aetna, PGA REACH Nebraska was able to showcase the three pillars (Youth, Military & Inclusion) they touch on a national stage. The Korn Ferry Tour’s regular-season finale being in Omaha represented the perfect opportunity for the foundation to spread awareness of the good they’re doing in the community.

Nebraska’s Managing
During all four days of the championship, PGA HOPE Nebraska Veterans were invited to hang out at the Hero Hut tent on No. 9 green which was a free benefit for their service to our country. The HOPE graduates enjoyed the camaraderie, food, drinks and fantastic views of play. Presented by PGA REACH Nebraska, the Hero Hut Tribute Wall gave attendees the opportunity to write a message of appreciation and love to those who have served and sacrificed for our free-doms.PGAREACH Director Seth Scollard, PGA talks to local media:

The impact they have made wouldn’t be possible without fundraising efforts similar to their annual golf tournament that brings people together in Kearney.
Now, with the Tasha Keiter Memorial transitioning into a PGA REACH Nebraska initiative, the Keiter’s annual golf tournament is moving forward as our foundation’s ‘Kearney Impact Event’.
For the past 10 years, Diane and Dave Keiter have honored their late daughter Tasha by spreading her passion and love for the game of golf by welcoming new groups of people into the game.
The Keiter’s have played an instrumental role in implementing Golf ‘N Schools into the Kearney area elementary schools in addition to other avenues which bring new people into the game.
For the first time on Friday, PGA REACH Nebraska welcomed players to celebrate the accomplishments of the Tasha Keiter Memorial Foundation and to look ahead to a great partnership that will make a huge impact in coming years.

The 2022 Nebraska PGA Jr. League Section Championship took place at The Club at Indian Creek alongside the Korn Ferry Tour event. Our PGA Jr. League All-Stars spent the day warming up on the range next to Tour Professionals before teeing off on the Red Feather course. After the season began with more than 60 teams and 1,400 juniors from across the state, our Section Championship came down to four 13U teams and two 17U teams with one from each division advancing to the regional event in Wisconsin.
The 9-hole competition was capped off by Eastern Nebraska’s All Star Harper Kalin draining a 60+ foot putt that ignited the crowd and wrapped up the event in a perfect way.
