This year’s 18-hole division NJGT Championship will be hosted at Dakota Dunes Country Club, ranked best in the state of South Dakota by both Golf Digest and Golf Week. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the course is a diamond in the Midwest with immaculate conditions, first class dining and more. The top point winners in each division as of July 21st will earn their spot in the field for this majestic golf course. Dakota Dunes Country Club is generously offering NJGT participants and parents practice rounds this season for a significantly reduced rate of $45 per player. Practice rounds are Tuesday-Sunday and must be booked through PGA Head Professional Justin Arlt at least nine days early. Two Rivers Golf Club – Purple Panthers TEAM Golf Team The Purple Panther Golf TEAM has developed into a strong junior program due to the success of the NJGT TEAM golf tour, Dakota Valley HS athletics, its’ Purple Panthers developmental program, the coaches and most importantly the parents who have introduced their kids to golf and volunteered their time to involve their child. To start the program, the club hosted pre-school field trips, emailed parents through the school district and the Purple Panther organization. Once introduced, the program grew. It consists of a training camp in early June, weekly practices, 4-5 TEAM meets and a finale TEAM Family Golf night and grill out at the completion of the season. The mission is to develop juniors and their families into lifetime social or competitive golfers. It began with 13 kids in its 1st year and has grown to over 60 players ages 6-16 and with some of the original teammates now participants on the Dakota Valley HS golf team and others playing regularly with their families and friends. It has truly been a team effort to develop this program for the benefit of all. -Rodd Slater, PGA
