I am Sonya Freese, currently the Head Golf Professional at Firethorn Golf Club. I have been part of the Firethorn staff for 15 years. Here at Firethorn we have a June and July Junior Golf Camp, (3) NJGT Team Golf teams named the “Fireballs, weekly Junior League and Pee Wee golf. In 2016, we recently opened the Resort facility here at Firethorn. The Resort Short course is an excellent place for our juniors to practice and play. Firethorn recently hosted our 1st Annual NJGT golf event at the Short Course that was a huge success. We also have a Parent/Child tournament after each of our camps that are very popular. This is a great way for the kids to show off their talents with their families. Baseball golf, snag golf, and miniature golf are just some of the popular games we incorporate in our camps. My favorite part about my job is being able to teach and coach these young golfers. Seeing these kids hit that first drive on the green, making those first pars and birdies & sinking those putts is so special for me to see. These kids are the very reason I became a PGA Golf Professional and I am so honored to be part of the Junior Golf programs here at Firethorn. - Sonya Freese, PGA
