The 2024 construction season is underway as we work to build and maintain an efficient, long-lasting transportation system within the Omaha metropolitan area. We recognize the frustration that construction can cause. Thank you for your patience as we work to make these important changes. PARKER ST – FORT ST, OMAHA
CONSTRUCTION START: Summer 2023
ANTICIPATED

COMPLETION: Fall 2024
IMPROVEMENTS:
Improvements consist of repairing and painting bridges, as well as milling and resurfacing US-75.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Traffic impacts include lane and ramp closures on US-75. The Bristol Street bridge over US75 is currently closed to traffic through approximately midJune 2024. Pedestrian access would be maintained during the Bristol Street bridge detours. The Hamilton Street bridge is anticipated to close April through fall 2024. During this, a detour will be in place, and an ADA accessible shuttle will offer service from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to accommodate area businesses and programs

IMPROVEMENTS:
Improvements consist of asphalt crack sealing and new pavement markings.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS:
Construction will be completed overnight with intermittent temporary lane and ramp closures.

ANTICIPATED CONSTRUCTION
COMPLETION: Summer 2025
IMPROVEMENTS: Improvements consist of concrete pavement and bridge repairs on N-50.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: During construction, N-50 will be limited to one lane in each direction for major bridge repair work. For concrete pavement and minor bridge repairs, temporary daytime and overnight lane closures can be expected.
12TH STREET – MISSOURI RIVER BRIDGE
PAINTING, OMAHA
ANTICIPATED CONSTRUCTION
START: Spring 2024
IMPROVEMENTS:
Improvements consist of painting specific locations within the bridge.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Work will require multiple extended closures of Exit 4 (westbound ramp to Dodge Street). A designated detour will utilize Exit 3 to 14th Street. Local traffic under I-480 may be detoured onto local roads or experience lane closures to accommodate work. Pedestrian traffic may be detoured to adjacent sidewalks or maintained with temporary protective covers.

I-480 – MISSOURI RIVER BRIDGE, OMAHA
ANTICIPATED CONSTRUCTION START: Spring 2024
IMPROVEMENTS:
Improvements consist of bridge repairs, superstructure painting, adding a bridge drainage system, minor electrical repairs, and updating lighting.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Work will require multiple extended closures of Exit 4 (westbound ramp to Dodge Street). A designated detour will utilize Exit 3 to 14th Street. Additionally, the Iowa Riverfront Trail would be closed under I-480 for approximately 21 days to accommodate work. A designated detour would be provided utilizing the River Edge Services Road Trail.
MAHONEY – N-370
ANTICIPATED CONSTRUCTION START: Spring 2024
ANTICIPATED CONSTRUCTION
COMPLETION: Fall 2024
IMPROVEMENTS:
Improvements consist of installing 11.2 miles of cable barrier in the grassy median on I-80 from Mahoney State Park area to N-370.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Traffic impacts are anticipated to be shoulder closures.
ANTICIPATED CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION: Fall 2026

US-6/192ND STREET INTERCHANGE, OMAHA

ANTICIPATED CONSTRUCTION
COMPLETION: Winter 2024
IMPROVEMENTS: Improvements consists of reconfiguring the existing interchange of US-6/West Dodge Road and 192nd Street to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). Additionally, the project includes removing and replacing pavement, bridge repairs, ramp work, reconstruction of curb inlets and storm sewer, new ADA curb ramps and sidewalk, new traffic signals, and updated street lighting.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Traffic impacts include temporary daytime and overnight lane closures as well as overnight ramp closures.

IMPROVEMENTS: Improvements consist of bridge repairs, shoulder replacement, approach replacements, curb and flume installation, culvert work, removing and replacing impacted guardrail and lighting, grading, and erosion control. Additional work includes overhead sign structure replacement.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Traffic impacts include multi-day closure of 180th Street and 168th Street overpass bridges and interchange ramps as well as lane restrictions on US-6, ramps, and 180th and 168th streets.
