AIPG STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The purpose of the Institute shall be: to strengthen the geological sciences as a profession with all reasonable actions; to establish professional qualifications for, and to evaluate continuously the ethical conduct of geological scientists. Further the Institute shall establish standards to protect the public and geological sciences from non-professional practices; shall monitor governmental and other activities affecting the geological sciences; and, shall communicate with the public.
