Welcome To the 20th Annual DREAMS Auction. Thank you to all of our Alumni, Friends, NDSCS Staff, as well as our many business and industry partners who are attending tonight’s event. I would also like to say thank you to all of our Foundation sponsors and donors of tonight’s live & silent auction items, without you this night would not happen. The same has to be said for our many community, staff and student volunteers who have been helping make this event a reality for 20 Years!

I doubt that former Foundation Director Woody Caspers would have ever thought the event would still be going strong 20 years after the first auction. Thanks Woody & Connie for getting the party started! Through the years there have been changes and there will continue to be more in the coming years as we move forward with the reason the event was first held.

“FUNDRAISING FOR NDSCS” Many people say it is a very “fun” evening, a community party so to speak but in reality it is that and much more; it is the NDSCS Foundation’s largest fundraiser. All of tonight’s net proceeds help the Foundation support and assist the college by raising money that help NDSCS’s many programs and students!

So tonight remember our purpose and BID HIGH! Please have a lot of fun too, to help you cap off the evening we are extending our hours and have arranged for “Billy D & the Crystals” for you to dance till midnight. A special thank you to those volunteers who have offered to stick around and help us continue the evening.

Welcome Alumni and Friends to the 20th Annual DREAMS Auction Welcome! On behalf of the NDSCS faculty, staff and students it is my pleasure to welcome you to our 20th Annual DREAMS Auction! Thank you for your involvement and support of this wonderful event. Your attendance and contributions help the NDSCS Alumni Foundation fund the support they provide to NDSCS. Student success continues to be our highest priority.

We have fulfilled that responsibility by consistently and reliably providing a safe, clean, healthy, green, techsavvy, affordable and accountable, student focused, world-class educational environment where students gain real-world skills working with real-world technologies and equipment.

A special thank you to our NDSCS Foundation, our top-notch Culinary Arts Students, our devoted faculty and staff members and the many volunteers involved with this event. Tonight we again celebrate the continued success of the DREAMS Auction. We are the Science of Success!

Auction Information Valet Parking If you choose to use valet parking, please drive to the front door of the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the circular driveway. Student ambassadors will provide you with a ticket in exchange for your keys and will park your car. The parking lot north of the building will be reserved for valet parking only.

Check-In All pre-registered guests should check in upon arrival at the registration tables, as you enter. Here you will receive your bid number, heads & tails paddles, any pre-purchased beverage tickets, and your table assignment. Please keep these items with you throughout the event. Extra auction books are available. Anyone who has not pre-registered will be redirected to register at the Information Area.

NEW! - To provide you a speedy checkout, credit cards will be swiped when you arrive at check-in. Just like checking into a hotel, your card will be charged for your purchases after the event. We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover. If your payment plan includes cash or check, then you will not be required to provide a credit card.

Payment and Pickup At the conclusion of the auction, credit card users may pick up their receipt or we will mail it to you. Cashier lines will be available for cash and check payments. All checks should be made payable to the “NDSCS Foundation”. Successful bidders are expected to pay for the item at the cashier’s area. All items must be paid for in full and removed from the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the evening of the auction (larger items can be picked up on Saturday morning). All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refund on items.

Sales Tax According to the North Dakota Sales Tax law, we are obligated to charge sales tax on selected items from the auction. The tax will be reflected on your receipt. (Gift Certificates and tickets are exempt from this tax.)

Charging to your Bid Number For your convenience, you will be able to charge your beverage tickets to your bid number. Charge slips will be added to your billing at the cashier table.

Sales & Certificates Please read your catalog and certificates carefully! Values listed in the catalog are donor-stated values or appraisals and as such are not warranted for tax purposes or for general value. All trips, items, and services must be used during the designated dates and within the guidelines. Certain items are represented by certificates, letters or business cards for products or services and must be presented to the donor to redeem the service. Certificates and accessories for items will be available at the cashier table when you check out.

Alcoholic Beverages Beverage tickets are available for purchase next to the East end bar and the Arena entrance. You must purchase a beverage ticket to be punched; no cash will be accepted at the bar. Unused beverage tickets are non-refundable and may not be redeemed for tips. No one under the age of 21 is allowed to be served alcoholic beverages. Student Ambassadors are not allowed to carry for you or serve any alcohol to your table. Please respect this policy and not put these students in an uncomfortable situation.

Tipping Tipping is not required, but appreciated. All tips provided to valet; coat check and bartenders will be donated to the NDSCS Alumni Foundation.

Good Faith Statement The auction committee has endeavored to catalog and describe the items and services correctly. Everything is sold “as is.” Certain items and services may have restrictive use or other qualifications that may affect the value, application or use to the bidder. Some of the items may not be transferable. Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donor.

Bidding Process Live Auction The auctioneer conducts the live auction and has the final word on an auction item.

Hold your bid cards up high when you wish to bid on a live auction item.

Silent Auction The silent auction is divided into sections, each section closes at various times. Please make sure to bid early, check often and place your highest bid before the section closes. You may purchase the item at any time before closing by placing your bid number in the “guaranteed price”, listed at the bottom of the sheet.
