Learning remotely requires effort on the part of students, parents and teachers. There are several ways to make sure that your at-home study environment is set up for success so that you can make the most of your Notre Dame Prep education whether we are using the totally online method of learning or if we are using the hybrid (half online/half on-campus) method.

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL ONLINE EXPERIENCE Be on time for class and take responsibility for your own learning: You must log on for each class at the designated class time (see page 12) The same attendance policies apply for online learning and face-to-face learning Develop self-discipline and adhere to the ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY for technology Resist procrastination temptations or distractions Participate in the group and avoid isolation Organize your time for breaks, meals, homework Know the syllabus: Your course syllabus is the key to successful time management Read it carefully to keep track of important items Create a study space: Look for a study space that is quiet with a door that closes and has adequate lighting Your home work space must limit distractions No bedrooms/no lying down Make sure you have a desk or table Check your technology: Make sure you have adequate electrical outlets Make sure your device is updated to manage Canvas, Powerschool and other approved applications Email IT at helpdesk@ndpsaints.org if you need help Stay connected: Check emails regularly Make the most of your course and communicate regularly with your instructor and peers Actively stay connected using discussion boards and working in small groups Dress for success: Get up and dressed like you are going to school Students attending class online must follow dress code on page 11 Hair must be groomed 18
