ACADEMICS AND ACADEMIC Notre Dame Prep offers a wide variety of learning programs to suit the needs of students with varying learning styles. These programs are designed to help our students succeed. For information on all these programs, contact your student’s counselor or go to ndpsaints.org/academics.

ACADEMIC CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE (ACE) The Academic Center for Excellence is a unique pathway extending the support provided through the St. Aloysius Gonzaga program. Students who demonstrate a need for accommodations to support learning differences are afforded the opportunity to have a study hall where tutoring with teachers is available. Learn more at ndpsaints.org/academics/academic-support.

ACADEMIC HONORS NDP offers Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude programs to encourage students to challenge themselves in the classroom to achieve high academic designation and prepare themselves for selective colleges and universities. Note: Cum Laude is being phased out and will not be available for the class of 2022 and beyond. Learn more at ndpsaints.org/academics/academic-honors.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT The Advanced Placement (AP) is a program created by the College Board to offer college-level curricula to high school students that culminates with a national exam in May. Many American colleges and universities (not all) grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores (4 or 5) on the AP subject exams. Learn more at ndpsaints.org/academics/course-description-guide.

DUAL ENROLLMENT Notre Dame Prep partners with Scottsdale Community College and the University of Arizona to allow students to earn college credit while attending high school. These credits transfer to many colleges and universities in the state of Arizona and beyond. Dual Enrollment information can be found at ndpsaints.org/academics/course-description-guide.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES We hold one parent-teacher conference night on campus each year in the fall. Students are encouraged to accompany their parents to the conferences. Teachers are always available by phone, email or appointment. Access the faculty directory at ndpsaints.org/myndp/staff-directory.

SCHEDULES Student schedules for the 2020-2021 school year will be emailed at the end of August. Students will be able to sign up for an appointment with their counselor after that if they have questions or concerns. Most scheduling questions can be handled via email, so please email your counselor before scheduling an appointment. Please note that NDP does not accommodate schedule changes based on teacher preference.

Our team of counselors can help you navigate our academic programs, keep students on track with their graduation requirements, address social and emotional concerns and assist with education pathways. Visit ndpsaints.org/academics/counseling.

ST. ALOYSIUS GONZAGA The St. Aloysius Gonzaga Program assists those students who demonstrate academic potential and a desire to learn but need support to navigate NDP’s college preparatory curriculum successfully. The program includes an increased focus on English and Mathematics. Learn more at ndpsaints.org/academics/st-aloysius-gonzaga-program.

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS SCHOLAR PROGRAM The St. Thomas Aquinas Scholar Program is a highly competitive, integrated program of study that provides a challenging, well-rounded education for our most gifted and motivated students. Learn more at ndpsaints.org/academics/st-thomas-aquinas-scholars-program.

TESTING CENTER Located in the ACE, our Testing Center is a quiet, stress-free environment where students may go to take classroom exams and standardized tests. This space is for students who need to make-up quizzes or exams that they missed while they were absent. The Testing Center is also a place where students who require extended time for testing can go and complete their exams without distraction or interruption. Learn more at ndpsaints.org/myndp/students/testing-center.

TUTORING Tutoring is also provided by National Honor Society students on campus after school. NHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. Here at NDP we create an enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote worthy leadership and encourage the development of character in students. Watch for more information after the start of the school year.
