President/Principal Welcome
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2020-21 year. This year our theme is We Rise...
I’m looking forward to reconnecting with our students, faculty, and staff as We Rise from the uncertainty that comes with COVID-19 closures. Starting this year online is a scenario we planned for but hoped we wouldn’t have to utilize. Our campus is a dynamic place and beautiful things happen when teaching can take place in person. But we will embrace this year with gratitude, thankful for each other and God and His protection and providence during these trying times.
Developing thoughtful and moral leaders who will Rise in the midst of adversity is indicative of our Catholic identity. For more on this, please read Fr. Kurt’s letter on page 19.
Our top priority is the health, safety, and well-being of everyone on campus. Please refer to the 2020-21 Student/Parent Handbook. As in years past, there are important protocols and waivers you must sign before beginning classes.
In light of all the changes, one thing remains constant and that is the love of God and His presence in our lives. At NDP it is our mission to strengthen the minds, bodies, and souls of our students through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, health and safety practices, co-curricular activities, and faith formation.
Each year we produce Saints 101 to provide an overview of the most referenced NDP tools, policies, programs and daily schedules. All the information introduced in this publication can be found on the NDP mobile app and website. Links are provided to help you navigate to our website for more information.
I invite you to explore the information regarding parent groups and engagement, and the many ways each of you can support the long-term growth and financial stability of our school. Our beautiful new state-of-the-art performing arts center will open this spring. Details on how you can contribute to this exciting project can be found on page 34. I encourage you to get involved and you will make life-long friends and lasting connections while making a difference at NDP.
Keep your copy of Saints 101 handy throughout the year, as it will be a helpful resource. Pay careful attention to the list of dates on our online calendar at ndpsaints.org/calendar.
Thank you for entrusting your student with us. Together We Rise as Saints!
Yours in Christ,
Jill Platt, M. Ed. Notre Dame Preparatory President/Principal
