(480) 634-8250 - attendance@ndpsaints.org ABSENCES/TARDIES

1. The state of Arizona requires by law [ARS 15-803(B)] that all students attend school 90% of the school year. Students who miss 10% or more of classes may jeopardize earning credit in each class in which they have excessive absences. 2. If your child will be absent, contact the Attendance Line by phone or email each day your child is absent. 3. A student is considered tardy whether they enter the classroom in person or online after the bell rings at the start of class. If a student accumulates more than three tardies in a class, the tardies will start to be counted as absences and course credit could be jeopardized. 4. Please familiarize yourself with the entire attendance policy which applies whether the student is in the classroom in person or online, and make note of the procedures in the following areas: a. For students arriving late, a parent or legal guardian must call or email Attendance prior to the student’s arrival. b. Students will not be allowed to enter campus after 9:50 am. They will be required to complete their coursework online for the day. c. For security reasons, a parent or legal guardian must notify Attendance if a student is leaving school early. d. Students who leave campus early for an appointment will be required to complete the rest of their school day online from home. They will not be permitted back on campus. e. Pre-arranged absences need to go through the Deans’ Office and a Request for

Pre-Arranged Absence form must be submitted. f. Students may NOT leave school with anyone other than their parent without written permission from the student’s parent or legal guardian.
