MISSION Notre Dame Preparatory is a Diocesan Catholic High School dedicated to the promotion of academic excellence and the pursuit of holiness through the shared values of Reverence, Respect, and Responsibility, out of love for Jesus Christ.
VISION To provide the highest quality Catholic high school educational experience, offering student-centered learning opportunities which develop the whole person: mind, body and soul.
MIND
We are a leader in Catholic education through innovation and visionary focus and constant examination of best practices. We install a strong spiritual foundation among our students in order to discern vocation using the God-given talents through a rigorous, multifaceted program of study. We promote high academic standards to form future problem solvers engaged in critical and creative thinking, who are able to collaborate and utilize diverse means of education and evaluate the moral implications of their decisions.
BODY We uphold the virtues of fortitude, selflessness, sacrifice, self-mastery, integrity, strength, tenacity, humility, charity, courage and loyalty through peer support, accountability and love. We provide an environment allowing students to feel safe, loved and validated in their physical and social-emotional development knowing they are supported across the community. We develop the whole person by creating a culture of active participation through a variety of co-curricular and athletic activities that enhance creativity, leadership, passion, teamwork and physical health.
SOUL We partner with families to educate students in the Catholic faith, so they know their identity in Christ and their unique call to holiness. We foster an environment where students can encounter Christ through the Sacraments of the Church, prayer, retreats and opportunities for lifelong servant leadership. We encourage and invite students to become transformational Christian leaders who support faith, patriotism and moral values so that they may choose what is good, true and beautiful with ease and clarity.

At NDP, we believe “All Are Made in the Image of Jesus Christ,” so we show… Reverence by Seeking Holiness
Pray and Worship God Serve Others Live as a Disciple
Respect by Loving Our Neighbors Honor our Human Dignity Seek the Truth Assume the Best
Responsibility by Always Doing the Right Thing Take Ownership Pursue Excellence Fulfill God’s Will
SAINTS BACK SAFELY In 2019-2020 when we came up with “Accept the Challenge as a call to action for our community, we had no way of knowing that we would be challenged in ways we never thought possible. But like the Saints we are, we accepted the challenge to shift immediately to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. We also found wonderfully creative ways to support our students and celebrate our seniors. In preparation for the 2020-2021 school year, we invested extensively in state-of-the-art technology and professional training and development. With our Saints Back Safely in hybrid mode, our students, whether on campus or at home, are receiving the academic excellence that they have come to expect from Notre Dame Prep. We also remain closely connected through our daily House meetings, athletic team practices and the efforts of our spirited Dog Pound while keeping the safety of our community as our top priority. 7

NDP - Our Future in Focus
Construction is in full-swing on the St. Catherine of Bologna Performing Arts Center. This effort marks the first classroom construction project on our campus in more than 10 years, but most importantly, our first performing arts building! The building is set to open in early 2021. Named for the patron saint of the arts, the St. Catherine of Bologna Performing Arts Center (or the PAC for short) offers more than 20,000 square feet of space that will house our drama, guitar orchestra, jazz ensemble, choir, and digital media programs. “I can't wait to get in there and really break in that space and develop something magical with the NDP community,” said NDP drama teacher Esther Sequeira. The state-of-the-art recording studio will allow our music and choral ensembles to record their CDs in-house and it will provide a quiet space for our NDP Live! Club to produce video announcements and promotional videos. The Blackbox theater will offer flexibility and space for large gatherings, including Mass, and will allow our drama, dance, choral and instrumental music students to experience a variety of theater configurations for their performances. Senior Bennett Curran is a thespian and a member of the NDP guitar orchestra, who will spend a great deal of time in the PAC once it opens. “I’m super excited!” he said. “It is something all of us at NDP have been looking forward to. It will be amazing to be able to create memories and music on a massive level,” he added.
9
Faith Faith is an integral part of life at Notre Dame Prep. We fully trust in the tenents and mission of the Catholic Church to allow students to be disciples of God, so that they might go forth and improve the world. Parents are the primary religious educators and nurturers of their children’s spirituality and we partner with parents by offering a vibrant faith life on campus.
11
Human Dignity Initiative As a Catholic High School, the dignity of every soul on campus is vitally important to us. That is why we created our Human Dignity Initiative to ensure that our students are formed in the very heart and mind of Jesus Christ. We are brothers and sisters to one another. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) gives us a beautiful reminder of how we are to view each other and challenges every one of us to look upon his neighbor (without any exception) as ‘another self,” and treat others accordingly. We are all made in the image and likeness of God and with that comes great dignity and responsibility. Reverence, Respect, and Responsibility are the pillars of our Integral Student Outcomes (ISOs) and are present in every classroom and office on campus. They are more than just words on a wall; they are aspirational reminders of who we must be. Our philosophy carries over to our students who have formed clubs such as Diversity Student Union, to help the end racial-division; Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, to provide aid to the poor and marginalized in Spanish-speaking countries; and HopeKids who offers comfort to those suffering from life-threatening illness.

To help students discern a career, we have outlined courses that align with a number of career pathways. Please note: these are not "locked-in" paths; students are not required to take courses from these lists. These are merely options for students to gain real experience and foundational skills to aid them in their careers. We encourage all students to consider these pathways during their course selection process.

10 Houses - One Community of Saints
20
The House System at Notre Dame Prep sets us apart from most high schools in the Valley. Our student body is divided into 10 Houses—these Houses build community, mentorship and opportunities for growth and leadership. But mostly, they provide a place where each student, faculty and staff member has a place to belong. The goal is to find and foster the brilliance in each student and to give each soul on campus a place where they are embraced by their fellow House members while building a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to live in true discipleship. Being a member of a House gives our students time throughout the day for real interpersonal interaction with students from all grades and members of our faculty and staff. The House System allows students to be recognized for more than GPA or athletic achievement, but for their human kindness. Our Houses are named for the great Saints throughout the ages. And with the name, each House represents a key virtue of their Saint – fortitude, selflessness, sacrifice, integrity, strength, tenacity, humility, charity, courage, and loyalty. The Houses compete for House points through academics, Christian service, school spirit, and enthusiastic competitions, while demonstrating Reverence, Respect and Responsibility toward each other. These efforts lead to the coveted House of the Year Award!

The Notre Dame Preparatory athletic programs are part of the fabric of our community. Athletics at NDP promote individual dignity, personal development and social interaction in a supportive and highly competitive environment. We are very proud of our athletic tradition and success. We compete locally, regionally, nationally and internationally in more than 25 interscholastic sports and activities. Our teams have enjoyed great success in every sport and activity we offer. Our commitment to provide young men and women with dynamic opportunities for personal growth and formation through athletics impacts each of them for a lifetime. Over 70% of our students choose to participate in athletics. NDP continues to accept the challenge to compete against schools much larger in size – but not in heart. NDP has a strong history of champions. Our football team sports an impressive 37-4 win-loss record under current coach George Prelock. Our 2020 baseball team was favored to the state championship before the COVID-19 pandemic cut their season short. Our boy varsity lacrosse team won three straight state championships 2017, 2018 and 2019. Most recently our cheer team placed first for large show-cheer team in the state and they place 2nd at Nationals. Our D3 varsity hockey also won the 2020 state championship in 2020. Our Saints signed NCAA letters of intent to play their chosen sport at the collegiate level; baseball at the University of Arizona, Golf at Sienna College, volleyball at Lafayette College and Harvard University, Oklahoma State University, and WestPoint Military Academy (3) for football. Every year, our athletes provide us with excitement and a sense of pride. Go Saints!

Creative expression is an important component of a well-rounded academic career. NDP students are encouraged to explore the arts and are given many opportunities to exhibit their work. The Fine Arts Department at NDP seeks to maximize the creative potential in each student by providing events for students to accept the challenge and try new artistic avenues. Art students enhance their individual creativity while collaborating and supporting each other. Through NDP's many arts programs, students find their niche and discover hidden talents. We offer many classes including choir, guitar orchestra, jazz ensemble, drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, acting, dance and digital video production. Each semester we sponsor a Fine Arts Festival under the lights on our beautiful campus with artwork produced by our talented artists and entertainment provided by our performing arts students. In keeping with the Catholic tradition of forming humble servants to foster God's people, our performing and visual arts students find opportunities each year to share their talents with those in need. Our dancers perform for terminally ill children at Phoenix Children's Hospital, and the Tri M Music Honor Society holds a benefit concert each year to raise money for Rosie's House, an organization that provides free music lessons and instruments to children from low-income families. Another exciting opportunity in the Arts arena is NDP LIVE! We are a leading high school in digital video production. Last year, this group won several awards from the Arizona Interscholastic Press Association for excellence in video announcements, live streams, promo videos, animated graphics, on-camera talent, to name a few. Offering our students an opportunity to work behind or in front of the camera, NDP LIVE! helps bring our school’s story to life.
“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” Mother Teresa
“Christian Service not only gives us an opportunity to see how fortunate and blessed we are, but it also allows us to build relationships with people who we wouldn’t otherwise know and those relationships are impactful and meaningful.” Shelley Dinges, NDP Director of Christian Service 26
Christian Service
Notre Dame Prep is unwavering in its commitment to its Catholic mission. We educate our students to understand their place in this world as servant leaders, especially to serve those who are less fortunate and marginalized. As part of graduation requirements, our students are expected to complete a minimum of 120 hours of Christian service with many going above and beyond. In fact, during the 2019-20 school year, students reported 28,970 hours of completed Christian service activities. A collection of freshman students serve on the plunge every Tuesday, where they volunteer at St. Mary’s and St. Vincent de Paul food banks. Each year the students sponsor Hope Kids Day, a day of crafts, games and fun for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition. NDP students serve organizations such as Andre House, Make-A-Wish, Miracle League, and Feed My Starving Children in addition to local Diocesan parishes. Globally, our students organize fundraisers for hurricane victims and supply drives for schools. They travel on mission trips to Mexico to build houses with One Mission, Peru to build brick stoves for families in Willoc, and Africa to help with medical relief and lend support to children of Tanzanian orphanages. School-wide service events include campus beautification projects and assisting with school fundraisers and community building events. Notre Dame Prep was recognized as a Global Level Platinum High School by Catholic Relief Services for dedication to advancing Catholic social teachings and compassion for the poor worldwide.

Alumni ONCE A SAINT, ALWAYS A SAINT!
We are so proud of our alumni and all of their great accomplishments. Even though they travel fast and furiously through life, we work hard to stay connected through social media and annual events like our Alumni Tailgate in the fall and Bemis Bowl on Thanksgiving Day.
