Dear NDP Friends and Donors, Each year, I enjoy collaborating with my team on our annual report because it highlights and calls to mind the profound impact that your donations have on the lives of our students. As parents, alumni, friends and corporate donors, you support our students in so many ways; nurturing their passions for learning new skills, providing needed scholarship funds for them to continue their education and helping us improve the space, comfort and safety of our campus. Your contributions are appreciated by the students, faculty and staff at Notre Dame Prep. We are honored by your support of our educational programs, co-curricular activities and Catholic mission to form future servant leaders in business, education, healthcare, technology, religion, the arts and whatever paths our students may take after they graduate. The 2022-23 school year was amazing for many reasons: • We welcomed our largest freshman class in school history. • We were named a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education (a five-year honor). • We completed our Strategic Plan paving the way for achieving key objectives to ensure that Notre Dame Prep remains the preeminent Catholic high school in the Valley.

• Our student body logged more than 28,500 Christian service hours. • We graduated 100% of our senior class most of them with academic honors. • We increased our enrollment by 7% over the previous year. • Over the summer we added additional classrooms to accommodate growing student population, and we added solar covered parking in three of our parking lots. These are just a few schoolwide and student accomplishments, there are many more! The outlook for Notre Dame Prep is bright. The commitment of our faculty and staff leads to excellence in education and discipleship, and inspires our students to be the best they can be. We look forward each year to releasing a new class of Saints into the world having grown in reverence, respect, and responsibility. Being good stewards of the blessings we are given is of the utmost importance to us. • For the second year in a row, we graduated 100% of our seniors

• Our Auction Fashion Show raised $504,513 (a new school record)

• We had TWO students earn the distinction of valedictorian for the FIRST TIME in school history

• Our Mardi Gras Giving Day raised a record-breaking $140,964 in EIGHT HOURS for the NDP Fund

• TWO FEMALE GRADUATES were appointed to the UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY

• We were recognized by the United States Department of Education as a

NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL

• We had THREE STUDENTS earn the title of NATIONAL MERIT FINALIST • We were named the “BEST PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL IN THE VALLEY” by the Scottsdale Progress for the FOURTH consecutive year • More than 25 students earned a school academic letter in our newly implemented

Dear NDP Families and Supporters, I want to thank each one of our gracious donors for their contributions to Notre Dame Prep. I graduated from this school in 2012, and I am extremely grateful that God led me back here. In my first official year as the Director of Advancement, my team and I raised 111-percent more than the year before, while also experiencing record attendance at our fundraising events. I would be remiss not to brag about our student-run Mardi Gras Giving Day livestream that brought in more than $140,000 in just one day! I am motivated by our philanthropic community to continue to work to enhance the NDP experience for our students. We are determined to grow and make each year better than the one before. With the funds raised we were able to add three additional classrooms, install security film on windows across campus, purchase two ‘Saints Snack Shacks’ to provide food at our athletic events, offer scholarships to students, and so much more. Whether you gave a small donation, volunteered at school or events, or gave a more substantial contribution, EVERY gift had the power to make an enormous difference in our school community. ALUMNI HALL OF FAME In a ceremony held in our Saint Catherine of Bologna Performing Arts Center on May 1, the following people were inducted into the 2022 FOREVER SAINTS HALL OF FAME CLASS:

SHELLEY DINGES, NDP COACH AND MENTOR

Dinges was a member of the Notre Dame Prep family for 20 years working as a PE teacher, tennis and golf coach, alumni liaison and the coordinator for Christian service learning. She is the winningest coach in NDP history with nine AIA state championship titles to her credit. Although she is proud of her athletic success, she said sharing her faith with our students was her greatest joy.

Just two years after graduating high school, Gellert founded her first nonprofit organization called BakPak, which connects the homeless with necessary services. Her work through BakPak heightened her awareness of the need for those struggling with homelessness to have access to health services. In 2018, she founded Elaine, a health navigation and transportation system whose motto is “Care Beyond Survival.”

The Kings are beloved members of the NDP community for their service to our students, faculty, staff and parent organizations from 2002 to 2023. They are NDP alumni parents of: Sam ‘07, Emily ‘08 and Will ‘10. Our community was spoiled by homecooked cafeteria meals made with love by the Kings for 20 years. Their model of faith and service endeared the Kings to generations of Saints.

ANTHONY SARANDREA, CLASS OF 2009 Anthony Sarandrea is consistently featured as one of the top “under 30-year-old” entrepreneurs in the U.S., and was featured alongside Snapchat’s founder Evan Spiegel as one of the “Entrepreneurs that are changing the world.” He is recognized as one of the top customer-generators in his field, specializing in the insurance and financial services space. Anthony recently went through an acquisition by a public strategic company MediaAlpha (NYSE: MAX) and he is currently serving on the advisory board of Arizona’s largest Venture Capital fund. With all of his success, Anthony humbly looks for ways to give back and help pave the way for future generations. He is a blessing to the NDP community.

Each year, the Notre Dame Prep Alumni Association recognizes former members of our community who made significant achievements while at NDP and/or in their careers and community after leaving our campus. These people are vetted through a nomination process and then selected by our Alumni Association Board of Directors to be inducted into the Forever Saints Hall of Fame. During her NDP years, Minardo was a standout student-athlete earning the title of team MVP six times – two in golf, two in basketball and two in tennis. She was part of six state championship teams. After graduating from GCU, she served as a police officer for the City of Phoenix and is now a School Resource Officer for the department protecting elementary school children.

Fr. Parks is known for his sense of humor and captivating ability to relate to teens and grown-ups alike. His engaging homilies inspired NDP students for more than five years during his ministry as our chaplain. Fr. Parks left us in 2018 to become the Vicar of Evangelization for the Diocese of Phoenix. Fr. John Parks is currently the Parochial Vicar “Pro Temp” of Our Lady of Joy Parish in Carefree.

Kinneberg is in the process of becoming a priest in Brazil. He is a lay brother at Sodalitium Christianae in São Paulo. After graduating from Notre Dame Prep, Kinneberg attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio where he studied Theology. While on a mission trip to Peru, he felt a calling to join the priesthood and that was the turning point for his life.

Reardon exemplifies what it means to be Notre Dame Prep Saint; living out Reverence, Respect and Responsibility. As a college athlete playing football for Northern Arizona University, he has a degree in communications, but his real success comes from his service to underprivileged kids in Flagstaff and being a member of the Green Berets, an elite unit in the United States Army.

PATRON SAINT AWARDEES THE NDP YEARS WERE “A SLICE OF HEAVEN” FOR THE RICHESONS Mark and Lisa Richeson are true examples of “Forever Saints.” For the past 13 years, they have been active members of the Notre Dame Community sharing their time, talent and treasure at our Annual Golf Tournament and Auction Fashion Show, long after their daughters graduated. Their NDP journey began in 2010 when their first daughter entered as a 9th grader. “I jumped right into Mothers’ Guild and got to know so many great people who became my second family,” Lisa said. “This school did so much for us that I just wanted to keep giving back, so I never stopped.” The Richesons have two daughters. Jenna graduated from NDP in 2014 and from the University of Arizona in 2018 with a retail business degree. Chloe graduated from NDP in 2019. She is a senior at the University of Arizona and will graduate this May in public health with the goal of becoming a nurse. “Our girls were prepared for all facets of college life when they left Notre Dame Prep,” Mark said. “From study skills and confidence to faith and academics, we just couldn’t be more grateful to this school. That’s why we volunteer. “It’s a lifelong deal for us.” Every time the Richesons drive to Notre Dame Prep, they get a little emotional as the memories of their time as NDP parents come flooding back. Both their daughters were members of the varsity pom team, so they spent most Friday nights at Bemis Field watching home football games and supporting the pom team. “Going to the football games and being a part of this community...well that was just a slice of heaven,” Mark added. It is our great honor to award the 2023 Patron Saint Award to the Richesons for their continued involvement in the Notre Prep Community and the advancement of our mission. Thank you both!

OPPORTUNITIES FOR INVESTMENT EVER GROWING – ALWAYS EXPANDING As an exemplary Catholic High School that delivers a classic and inclusive Catholic education to our ever-growing student population, Notre Dame Prep is continuously in need of more instructional and gathering space for our school community. Soon we will celebrate our 25th anniversary, and although that milestone is exciting, it also means that some of our facilities need a 20-year update. This is why we took the time last year to create our Strategic Plan so that we can address our priorities in a methodical and precise manner. Our growth and need for expansion present opportunities for members in our community to invest in the long-term life and vitality of Notre Dame Preparatory. More than 20 years ago, many of our supporters got together to add sound-reducing material to the ceiling of our gym. Many of those former NDP dads love to reminisce about that huge project!
