Sugarose™ is a smart sugar from natural source, that provides full carbohydrate energy (4kcal/g) in a balanced way, resulting in a low glycemic effect and thus far in a low glycemic functional response from the body (insulin –reaction). Sugarose™ helps to improve fat oxidation during physical activity and therefore leading to a prolonged energy supply in an organism-friendly way.

Addtionally, Sugarose™ it is the first non-cariogenic sugar, making it kind to teeth, and protecting your kids from dental deterioration.

Sugarose™ (isomaltulose) is purely based on sucrose from sugar beet. A 100% natural formula, is classified as suitable for vegan, kosher, halal and all kind of ages and populations, as well as a nonGMO certified product.

Sugarose™ is commercially produced by enzymatic rearrangement of the glycosidic bond between glucose and fructose from an -1.2 linkage of sucrose to an -1.6-glycosidic bond Isomaltulose. The resulting new molecular linkage of Sugarose™ is much more stable compared to that of sucrose.

Sugarose™ has a mild, natural sweetness power (approximately 50% of sucrose), without any aftertaste or differentiation. It easily can be combined with other sweeteners in order to achieve the pretended and/or desired kind of sweetness profile and power solely and/or in processed foods.

Sugarose™ can replace sucrose (Sugar) in a 1:1 bulking ratio.

Even at a temperature of 25 °C and relative humidity up to 85 %, Sugarose™ absorbs virtually no moisture.

Its very low hygroscopicity makes this, in the perfect choice for certain applications and manufactured products.

Free-flowing powder.

Thanks to its low hygroscopicity Sugarose™ is presented as a free-flowing powder, and is the perfect ingredient for all powder drinks and blends as well as other different formulations and prepared mixes.. It even shows a reduced water absorption in blends with other sugars and therefore significantly minimizes the risk of caking and lumping of such blends and formulas.

Improved stability for beverages.

Sugarose™ has a higher acid and process stability than sucrose. This is very relevant for isotonic sports drinks that tend to have a pH <3. Sugarose™ supports a maintained osmolality with the full rehydration effect that an isotonic or hypotonic rehydration beverage should offer, for a complete satisfaction of consumers and sports.

Longer shelf life for glazed donuts & other baked goods.

Due to the existing differences in water activity, donut crumbs tends to dry out and the glaze on top becomes sticky over time. This effect can be reduced by controlling the water migration between two layers conforming donut. The water activity of the glaze can be adapted to that of the baked good by the use of Sugarose™ . In such way, the dough keeps its original softness, freshness and organoleptic attributes, and the glaze does not become sticky; resulting in an extended shelf-life of freshly packed donuts.

Blood Glucose Profile Sucrose versus SugaroseTM

Sugarose™ provides to the body with the same amount of carbohydrate energy as sucrose. But due to its unique glucose-fructose binding, the energy is released at a slow pace and not all at once as happens normally with sucrose.

Sugarose™ (Isomaltulose) is an intelligent sugar and a slow digestible carbohydrate.

Isomaltulose occurs naturally in minor quantities in both sugar cane and honey.

The product is subjected to several purification processes, including filtration, crystallization and washing, followed by drying and cooling, resulting in a white crystalline powder.

Isomaltulose has a bland taste, with a sweetness level similar of sucrose. It is further characterized by good heat and acid stability and low hygroscopicity. Isomaltulose is a reducing sugar and therefore takes part in Maillard browning reactions. Isomaltulose is also tooth-friendly.
