DENTIBONTM and DENTIBONTM BLANC are Mineral based technological formulas designed to serve as Cleaning and Thickening soluFons for Toothpaste and other Dental Care products. It´s based on 100% Natural Minerals (Sodium and Calcium Carbonate + Silica) that are consolidated ingredients in a number of pastes and products worldwide containing such as acFve ingredients. Our experience in the use of these ingredients recalls to late 60´s when the fist product containing it was launched to the market, recognized and patented by Lever Brothers Company. Our products can be part of transparent and ultra-transparent formulated pastes for teeth. The ingredients within DENTIBONTM and DENTIBONTM BLANC are replacing other abrasive minerals that shown poor fluoride compaFbility as build materials and technologically improved acFve principles for Oral Care products, and more specifically toothpaste.
Our technological producFon system and the special formulaFon manufacturing method under a proprietary technology creates a unique product with a specific nature and characterisFcs that can bring advance and unparalleled properFes to almost any toothpaste formulaFon. We use Sodium and Calcium Carbonate made by reacFon under our proprietary system of Single Grain Fusion Technology assembling the resulFng compound into a bonded molecule of Silica made by chemical reacFon f r o m t h e s o d i u m s i l i c a t e , polymerizaFon and aggregaFon of primary parFcles. DENTIBONTM as Cleaning Agent Principal and primary funcFon of cleaning agents is to provide the necessary cleaning and stain removal to the toothpaste formulaFon. Typically, cleaning is directly correlated to the abrasivity profile and capacity of AI´s (AcFve ingredients) on tooth denFn and this parameter is measured by RDA(*). To make this more understandable we must say that as higher the RDA is, higher abrasivity profile and capacity is offered by the specific product. Even though this is typically true, one of the top capaciFes of our product is the ability to provide high cleaning efficiency at reduced level of abrasion when compared with compeFtor´s products. We leverage our capability to produce a specific product that offers a world of possibiliFes , ranging from specialized funcFonality to efficient cleaning and value. The range of cleaning of DENTIBONTM and DENTIBONTM BLANC offer a wide laFtude in RDA. There is a high degree of complexity in the formulaFon process as to selecFng the right type of AI´s and dosage level to achieve opFmum PCR/RDA(**) raFo. Mouthfeel, viscosity and consistency are all variables affected by the choices of cleaning and thickening agents, loading and other ingredients such as binders used in the formulaFon. Another way to determine the best suited cleaning agent from our por5olio is by considering the specific performance characterisFcs that you want to provide to your toothpaste formulaFon. DENTIBONTM as Thickening Agent Principal and primary funcFon of The primary funcFon of a thickening agent is to build viscosity, without increasing the level of abrasion (RDA) in the overall formulaFon. Also, they can be used as texturing agents in formulaFons that use alternaFve abrasives with different formulaFons and ingredients other that those present in DENTIBON Line. Our formulas shown physical characterisFcs that have an effect on the rheological properFes of the formulaFon where it´s added. As example, and more relevant, as far as the oil absorpFon of the thickener is, higher viscosity and texture properFes are provided to the formulaFon. Even knowing that viscosity of toothpaste will develop over Fme, it´s a fact that within 5-10 days aoer manufacturing the viscosity stabilizes and does not increase significantly on further aging. Viscosity stability of the toothpaste is an important parameter that needs to be confirmed prior to commercializaFon as it is also a good indicator of any ingredient incompaFbility. DENTIBONTM Line has a good impact on viscosity performance and stabilizaFon. In addiFon to having an important impact on viscosity of the paste, DENTIBONTM also plays a role in the mouthfeel of paste and the freshness and wellness of the mouth aoer use. If level of agents in the system is low, then the formulator may became inclined to use a less efficient thickener to achieve an overall solids level consistent with the pretended mouthfeel and aoeruse effect and sensaFons transmi,ed to the mouth, denFFon and mucosae. In general, the paste formulaFon should include at least 15% up to 30% total silica concentraFon. The split of this percentage between thickener and cleaning agent depends on the choice of AI´s, other ingredients, desired cleaning level, etc. As with our products, there are several consideraFons to determine the right type and dosage of thickener agent and/or concentraFon formula. Mouthfeel and “ribbon stand-up” can be improved by the addiFon of a thickener. Once again, these guidelines must be taken in consideraFon of the interacFons with the abrasive, the humectant system, acFves and all other ingredients.

DENTIBONTM in Optical Properties and RIC* *(Refractive Index Control) The clarity of a denFfrice is majorly dependent on matching the refracFve index (RI) of the cleaning and thickening AI´s (AcFve Ingredients/Agents) to that of the humectant phase in the formula. DENTIBONTM Line of products have refracFve indices ranging between 1.54 to 1.59 that will allow customers to achieve high clarity denFfrices.
Glycerin is an important part of the humectant system for its effect on the appearance and smoothness of a toothpaste, but it exhibits interacFon with the vast majority of thickening agents so using DENTIBONTM, you´re minimizing the risk of interacFon effect and thereby DENTIBONTM will play an essenFal role in achieving a final product/paste with higher clarity.
Generally, thickening agents have less interacFon with humectant components than cleaning ingredients. Therefore, if the formulator is a,empFng to achieve a high clarity toothpaste, the cleaning system – ingredient´s type and concentraFon, should be established before deciding on the thickening system.
Using sorbitol as a component of the humectant system, as an alternaFve to others, may affect at a significant level to the always difficult task of making a high clarity toothpaste. DENTIBONTM Line will let you to create unique toothpastes, effecFve in promoFng hygiene in the oral cavity with capacity of mark a differenFated consumer preference. Providing to your formulaFons an acceptable cleaning, polishing and some unique characterisFcs so as to have certain beneficial effects upon different parts of the denFFon (which may include the teeth and its adjacent elements/structures including plaque, calculus, gingiva, mucous membranes, saliva, etc.).
Toothpastes with the proper amount of DENTIBONTM in, will leave a clean mouth or clean mouthfeel effect that lasts longer than provided by other AI´s. Final products can be made in a more stable characterisFc as it will be more resistant to aging and/or storage without significant release of carbon dioxide bubbles or other forms of undesirable separaFon or reacFon.
