I am so pleased to be sending you New Dimensions Evangelism’s 2017 Year In Review. 2017 was an exciting year for the ministry! We came into the year in better financial shape than in the previous ten years. We were able to #sharewonder with more than 80,000 people. We reached into elementary, middle and high schools. We partnered with individual churches and groups of churches—to share the wonder of Christ’s love for us! I personally trained dozens of church folks to become “praying friends” (to be with those who came to the prayer room during our weekend outreach events.) The Gospel was proclaimed to thousands...and we saw hundreds of decisions for Christ! YOU are the most important part of this outreach-soul-winning ministry! I don’t have to tell you how crucial our work is in today’s world, as families are under all kinds of attacks from an Enemy with many faces. As the media hits families with messages contrary to God’s Word from every angle, the culture in turn absorbs these messages and fosters recklessness and entitlement instead of accountability and responsibility. Because of the friendship many of us develop with the things of this world, there is an aura of uncertainty in our lives that leaves us thirsting for something solid and reliable. Something we can hang onto… Some One who is not an illusion! I wanted to make you aware that in the midst of all of this uncertainty, New Dimensions continues to offer the rock-solid message of God’s Truth that has been well-tested and is well loved by people of faith and by those taking their first steps toward faith. We’re making plans for more crusades, more public school outreaches, better family resources, and a fresh vision of sharing God’s Word—reaching people of all ages with the truth of the gospel! January 2017 Starting the year off right, I hit the ground running. We had school outreach events beginning on the 5th. The week of the 9th I was in the Florida panhandle with more school outreach events and also had an opportunity to have lunch with two long-time supporters of this work. That is always such a blessing for me– to be able to meet people, some of whom I’ve never met before– that have been supporting this work since before my involvement in it!
Then I was off to the panhandle again where I shared with more schools and with the 7th Special Forces Unit, based out of Eglin Air Force Base. This was a meaningful time as we gathered for laughter and fun in the chapel. Some men were just returning from tour while others were preparing to depart. We ended the month with more school outreach events in Florida and South Carolina.
By the end of the month (thanks again to another faithful long-time supporter), I was able to be a sponsor at the Pastors’ Conference at First Baptist, Jacksonville. I’ve attended that event several times, and this time was able to make more strong connections with pastors from all over the United States.
February 2017 February found me Sharing His Wonder at a Catholic School in Sarasota. This was a morning family event of about 600– and it went super!
Including both January and February, I was able to #sharewonder with more than 10,000 children and parents! The year was off to a roaring start! 3

March 2017 On Thursday, March 2, I flew from Orlando to the Akron/Canton, Ohio airport expecting about an hour’s drive up to North Royalton. The plane landed just before dark, and I hit the road heading north... and got caught in one of the worst snow storms I had been in, in years! It was a complete “white out” in many places! After an extra hour in the snow, I finally made it to the hotel. That weekend I got to #sharewonder with 600 Sunday School teachers and leaders at a local YMCA, and later spoke at State Road Community Church in North Royalton. The snow had melted by the time I drove back to Akron, and I was home by Sunday evening... just in time to head to First Baptist in Sebring, Florida to #sharewonder at their Upward celebration. Scott did an amazing job. He connected with the kids and parents. Everyone had a really good time and he presented the gospel really well. --Jason Fryer, Family Pastor, FBC Sebring
It was a long drive from Sebring to South Carolina for two more school outreach events that week, and then I headed back briefly to Central and South Florida. 4
The third week of the month saw me again in South Carolina where I had an opportunity to meet a couple who have been very generous to this work over the years! What a delight and a blessing to meet them in person (and have them come to a school event– which they loved)! Then it was back home, where on Sunday, the 26th I was able to #sharewonder at FBC in Mt. Dora. The next morning included a quick plane trip to Chardon, Ohio, to #sharewonder with Morning Star Church. What a great program Scott put on... his mix of illusion, talent and gospel message was the perfect fit, not only to keep the kids entertained but to open the door to Christ for those in attendance who may not have had a relationship with Him. We have had a lot of entertainers over the years for our Upward awards night celebrations, but Scott was by far the best we have had the pleasure of hosting. April 2017 If the first quarter of the year took off like a rocket, the second quarter took off like a turtle! I was able to fill-in for a longtime friend, Tony Brent, at WonderWorks, Orlando. This is a small dinner show venue (130 seats) on International Drive. Tony has been performing there nightly for fifteen years! He is in need of occasional nights off, and has asked me to fill that spot if needed. I so appreciate the opportunity! You see, as a speaker-evangelist-entertainer over the last quarter of a century, when I am in front of a crowd, most of the people are all from the same area and live in the same community. But at this theater, there are people from all over the world– in one small room! One evening, I counted more than nine countries represented (9!)!! So, it has been a growing opportunity for me to say the least!
After that, it was home for 12 hours, then to Birmingham, Alabama, to be at Brookview Church on the Saturday before Easter. I flew home early Easter morning and made it in time to be with my family at our church. I wrapped up the month with two more WonderWorks appearances and then a private event for Polk County (Florida) Sheriff, Grady Judd. Grady is a strong advocate of the law– both man and God’s! It was an honor to work with him! Scott was instrumental in making the event an overwhelming success! His experience in show business was evident from the moment he stepped onto the stage. He captured our attention with his initial illusion, baffled us with his mind reading, and left everyone laughing by the end of his performance. It was a unique and diverse routine people talked about for the rest of the week. --Sheriff Grady Judd, Polk County FL
On the 13th, I had the privilege of flying to Atlanta to be on Babbie Mason’s talk show. It was a delight to meet her in person! (You may want to watch that interview on YouTube.) 5

May 2017 May began with me at WonderWorks in Orlando a couple of times, and then the last Sunday of the month was able to be with First Baptist in Chiefland, Florida. May is always a slower month for events, and that’s both good and bad. Of course, no events means no income! However, I knew that the summer was going to be full, so I was busy daily in the office preparing travel schedules, messages, and getting ahead on as much office work as I possibly could. In mid-May we had a wonderful celebration of Hannah being commissioned from the Impact 360 program in Pine Mountain, Georgia. It was an incredible year for her. If you know of a young person in high school or early college, I highly recommend you have them check into this program. Just google Impact 360 Gap Year.
June 2017 The first week of June was spent with local summer programs and doing more preparation for the coming weeks. Then, son Nate and I headed out to speak for a week in East Tennessee at a Christian camp near Maryville. The programs went great, and we saw many decisions for Christ during that week! From there we headed to Yadkinville, North Carolina for a special Father’s Day service at Maplewood Baptist. It was a treat being with those fine folks for Father’s Day!

Following that, Nate and I left North Carolina and drove all the way to Memphis. We had programs in West Tennessee, then worked all of the way back to East Tennessee the following weekend (that was a LONG week!). After a day of rest and fun in Pigeon Forge, we headed back home and arrived there safely.
About 48 hours later, on Monday the 26th, five of the six of us Humstons boarded a plane for Phoenix, Arizona. We spent that last week of June speaking at a camp in Prescott. Remember those news stories about fires in Arizona? I wish I had room here to tell you of the wildfire God got us through, or the incredible move of the Holy Spirit in peoples’ lives that week. Suffice to say, we experienced many wonderful prayer times and many life-changing decisions during that trip!
July 2017 After a week in the high desert of Prescott, we enjoyed some special family time. We headed back to Phoenix, then drove over to the Los Angeles area. It was a great week of driving as we tried to take in just some of the wonder of the great southwest as well as connecting with Nashville friends who were also there. It was the only “vacation” we had had in about ten years! On July 4th we awoke in Sedona, Arizona, and that afternoon we headed back to Phoenix and flew back to Orlando on the 5th. We got home just in time to get Abby on another plane to join Hannah at Lake Forest Ranch, Mississippi as a counselor.
Shortly following that, Debi, Nate, Rachel and I headed to Virginia. On the way up we got to speak at a little tiny church in Oak City, North Carolina. What a sweet time we had with them! Then, we were in Virginia for two weeks. In between camp speaking, we got to be with Heritage Baptist, which is just outside of Washington, D.C., where it was a pleasure to be around so much American history! We visited Monticello, Appomattox Courthouse and many other fascinating places.
August 2017
In Virginia camps again, we saw many life-changing decisions! It was a meaningful time to allow God to use me to speak into peoples’ hearts.
The first of August found us in Nashville where I had some ministry meetings, and the timing was perfect– we do love Nashville! We made a quick stop in Lawrenceburg to see my parents and then on to Mississippi to get Hannah and Abby.
From Virginia, it was off to Ohio, and we had just a day to get to the Wooster area. Due to a housing mix-up, we had to stay in a hotel about a 45-minute drive to the camp. I was speaking twice a day, and truly enjoyed the drive through the rolling hills of Amish farmland. There was lots of personal prayer time during those commutes! God, again, moved in the hearts of people!
We arrived home on the 5th, just in time for me to head to Tampa on the 6th for an evening event. I got to #sharewonder that week in Tampa and Orlando. The 12th found me on another plane, heading back out west– this time to Las Vegas. I spoke at Las Vegas First Church of the Nazarene on Sunday; it was a great time! Afterwards, I was at a conference until Wednesday.
We ended our time in Ohio on the morning of July 29 and started the drive towards Mississippi to pick up the girls from Lake Forest. By this time, Nate and I had been on the road for eight weeks. June and July yielded more than 100 decisions for Christ!
I arrived back home on Thursday, just in time to leave Friday morning to take Hannah to Mississippi College, the oldest University in Mississippi. My mentor, Felix, and his wife Patsy met there. And we were (are) excited about what God has in store for Hannah! The entire family “caravanned” up, and were all there as she moved into the dorm. On August 20th, we started the drive back to Florida… which just happens to be our 23rd wedding anniversary. And we spent it on the road :-). I was home just two days before heading off again, this time to Ridgeview Baptist in Wynne, Arkansas. We did a school outreach event on Thursday and started the WonderFull Weekend on Friday. We saw many decisions for Christ that weekend! PTL! I closed out another busy month at a wonderful christian school in Melbourne, Florida... my 15th year there! 7

September 2017 I kicked off September with a local school event, and then the next day I was off to be with First Baptist of Tucumcari, New Mexico. We had great school outreach events on Thursday. The church programs went great, and we saw many getting their hearts right with the Lord. Getting back home, however, was going to be a challenge! Hurricane Irma was pounding Florida and going right over our home! After three flight changes and a couple of days delay, I finally made it safely back. Our house suffered some minor damage– shingles missing and the fence down, but nothing to complain about. A few days without power was enough for everyone! But as life was slowly getting back to normal, I headed to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Story Conference. It is produced by my long-time friend, Harris. It was a superb conference attended by many faith-based ministries and individuals. From Nashville, I flew back to the Florida panhandle to be with Ensley Church of the 8
Nazarene, and then the next day returned to the 7th Special Forces unit out of Eglin AFB. Similar to the event we did in January, it was a very special evening! Then it was back home, just in time for another school outreach event. After that, Nate and I headed to the airport for a trip out to Pablo, Montana! We did school events on Thursday for a small church, and on Friday we kicked off the WonderFull Weekend. This church typically runs just about 50 on Sunday mornings. We had 80 on Friday night, and good crowds! There were lots of guests all weekend long!!
October 2017 Nate had never been to this part of the West before, and I was so excited to have him by my side! He was hoping for snow. The temps were chilly, but overall the weather was wonderful! With the weekend completed, I had planned to take Monday off. We were hoping to go fishing, but that was canceled due to a storm front moving in. So instead, we opted to drive up to Glacier National Park. Just as we
last ten years. It was a great event, as always. I’m so impressed of what these ministries do in communities!
headed over the mountain, the snow started to fall! It was a delight to see his excitement– his first snowfall! We found an old, closed restaurant, parked, got out of the truck and had some fun making memories at the top of that mountain! What a wonderful way to #sharewonder with my son... and a great way to kick off the month of October!
Later that week, I was invited by another friend and ministry supporter to speak and perform at the Trail Life/Heritage girls meeting in Jacksonville (these two organizations have picked up the original mission of the Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts). It was a super fun evening– wonder was shared and the Gospel was proclaimed!
We had a “red-eye” flight home, arriving on the morning of the 4th. After sleeping for a bit, I headed to Orlando the same day for an evening event! The next few days I had two conferences in Orlando– at one I was attending, at the other I was performing.
The next evening, we started a WonderFull Weekend at FBC in Fort McCoy, Florida. Pastor Jeff May and I had met at the Pastors’ Conference in Jacksonville a couple of times. This little church sits at the crossroads of this tiny Florida community, just outside of the Ocala National Forest. It was a blessing being with them– and being able to sleep in my own bed each night! We had good results from this church.
The following week it was back to South Carolina, this time to Charleston for a school outreach event. Then I was back home just in time to fill in at WonderWorks.
I wanted to say thank you for coming and sharing last weekend with us. Your ministry truly blessed the church and our community. We had 12 professions of faith and 17 others that came forward for prayer. We had a church which had to reschedule from October to next spring, so that left a small hole in the calendar for mid-October. However, due to the hurricane, we were able to move a couple of events into that time slot, so it worked out well. On the 23rd, Debi and I hosted a table for our local crisis pregnancy center, Life Choices. We have supported this organization for the 9

November 2017 This time of year, things traditionally begin to slow again as churches begin to focus on Thanksgiving and Christmas events. I wish more pastors would realize just what an excellent time this is to reach the lost! People are looking for hope more than ever during this season! November consisted of a school event in Manatee County, Florida, and I got to be part of the Daytona Beach Festival of Magic. It’s always a fun weekend! The 11th I was privileged to be with Trinity Baptist in Apopka. It was a great night to #sharewonder with families! After a quick trip to South Florida on the 17th, we drove to Birmingham to meet up with Hannah, and then all headed to Tennessee. It’s been a few years since the whole family had gotten together for Thanksgiving! My parents, sisters, and niece and nephews could all attend– except for Chris. I was able to watch his acceptance into the United States Air Force just a couple of weeks earlier, thanks to Facebook Live!

December 2017 The first of December found me in Nashville, Tennesee. I’ve had the privilege to #sharewonder in middle Tennesee for more than 25 years. In just one week, I was able to share His wonder with more than 1,500 people of all ages– in five different churches! From my events in Tennesee, I headed back to Eglin, AFB– the third time this year. This event took place for families at Eglin Elementary School. It was my 12th year being with them, and it is always such a delight! I was back home on the 8th, and then the 9th saw me at a private event in Orlando and the 14th in a local school.
QUICK FAMILY UPDATE Hannah (19) has just finished her first semester at Mississippi College, and she is doing great! She’s connected with lots of others, is in a leadership class and is getting used to dorm life. Please pray that she’ll continue to experience the joy that comes from becoming an adult. Abigail (16) is a junior at Hampden DeBose Academy. She is a hard worker, an officer in the Honor Society and plays on the girl’s soccer team. Please pray that God will give her direction towards the college that would challenge her for Him. Nathaniel (11) is homeschooled in the 5th grade. He is teaching himself Greek, went skeet shooting for the first time this fall and loves playing baseball for the local Babe Ruth league. He is an excellent reader and devours books in hours. He enjoys AWANA and is moving from boyhood to manhood daily. Please pray that God would give him the patience he needs to continue learning at home! Rachel Grace (9) is homeschooled in 4th grade and is a DIY queen! She is crafty, creative, talkative and likes to know what is going on! She’s doing great in our local AWANA program and she has a giving heart. Please pray that God will continue to guide her through His word. Debi and I celebrated 23 years of marriage this past August 20 (on the road, of course). I couldn’t be in this ministry if it weren’t for her holding things together at home. Would you pray that God would give her peace and joy as we make lots of important family decisions this coming year? We so appreciate your friendship and prayers!
