Training Camp

Training

At the beginning of summer, all summer missionaries complete a 10-day training. It will help prepare your heart and head for a summer of ministry to kids!

What happens at Training?

During Training, we’ll focus on two things: ministry skills development and spiritual development.

Ministry Skills Development

You’ll learn how to evangelize and disciple kids, especially through backyard Bible clubs and similar ministries. We’ll focus on learning how to share the message of salvation. You’ll also learn how to teach Biblical truths through songs, memory verses, stories, games, and face painting.

Spiritual Development

You will be challenged in your relationship with Christ. Daily activities include morning chapels, Spiritual Development Sessions (SDS), and evening devotionals (or “devos”).

A lot of time is spent studying God’s Word, worshiping, and praying. Each year, a large part of one day is set aside for a special focus on prayer. During this time, you will spend alone time with God, as well as praying and worshiping with fellow students.

Once you have successfully completed Training, you may serve as a missionary in our summer ministries.
