HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear NDA Family,
I
t is hard to believe that we have made it through more than 100 days of school this year! When NDA opened for full-time, in-person learning in September, we prayed that we’d be able to keep our students safely in school for as long as possible. I am so honored to be here in March, thanks to the hard work of many people, especially our faculty and students! Our community is grateful that K-12 educators, childcare workers, and school staff in Massachusetts are now eligible to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. As I always try to do, I lead by example and had my first dose last week. I know many members of our faculty and staff have appointments scheduled for the coming weeks. We all feel blessed that vaccines are now available for school personnel. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of our whole school community. Now, we look forward to brighter days ahead and hope to welcome back some of the special spring traditions that we missed in 2020, especially our end-of-year student events. First, some fall sports are getting their season in now and our high school Swim Team and Volleyball Team are in full-swing. On St. Patrick’s Day, our entire school honored front-line healthcare workers with special notes and a “wear green and give green” dress-down day fundraiser to provide snacks and lunch for the Lowell General Hospital vaccination clinic volunteers. On Friday, we honored our Junior class with a traditional Ring Day Ceremony in the Chapel. We can’t wait for many more events to come, including spring sports and the return of our Golf Tournament on Monday, May 24 at Vesper Country Club! NDA has had a lot of exciting news lately, with student successes, movement on our Strategic Plan, and an increase in philanthropic participation. In addition, we are in the middle of our 2021 enrollment cycle, and I’m pleased to share that we are seeing record numbers of families re-enrolling and applying for next school year. We are grateful! As a small Catholic school, we need our entire NDA family to spread our good news and support our efforts so we can continue to thrive and do amazing things! Join us!
