LETTER FROM THE
PRESIDENT Dear alumni, families, and friends,
Thank you! Because of you, your generosity, your belief in our mission, and your commitment to the Academy of Notre Dame, we had a record year of investment in our school community. We were blessed to have 998 donors support our mission raising over $2.2 million dollars! Your participation allows investment in NDA’s rich traditions, campus enhancements, academic excellence and meaningful student life. Your support has enabled NDA to welcome many more deserving students and their families into our school community. Students who will grow into mission-driven leaders in their respective fields. Students who will take the values and lessons of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Hallmarks and help to spread the word that God is good. Everyday we aspire to live the words of our foundress, St. Julie Billiart, “Appreciate the happiness you have
of forming young souls for the good God.”
With deep appreciation,
Dr. Vittoria Pacifico President

ACADEMY OF NOTRE DAME MISSION STATEMENT Our mission focuses on educating the whole person for life through a curriculum rooted in spiritual formation and academic excellence. We nurture a belief in the goodness of God and the dignity of each person. We are committed to community-building, diversity, global justice and service to those in need.
INTRODUCING THE ST. JULIE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: Creating Opportunities For Life
L
ike the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, the Academy has always been committed to making a values-based, Catholic school education accessible to all students. The new St. Julie Scholarship Program ensures that students who need financial support to attend NDA are granted the opportunity to be educated for life through the Academy’s commitment to strong academics, spiritual formation, community service, and college preparation.
The NDA of today is a spiritually, economically, culturally, and ethnically diverse community. We serve families from 42 local cities and towns and have recently welcomed some international students. Today, 47% of our students are male, 50% are students of color, and 75% are of various faith backgrounds. NDA continues to see an increase of students at all grade levels who qualify for tuition assistance and free-and-reduced lunch. We created the St. Julie Scholarship Program to respond to the needs of our families and open doors to students who seek a transformative Academy education. Our St. Julie Scholarship benefactors sponsor an individual student for four years with an annual scholarship commitment of $2,500 a year. This generous group of alumni and friends of the Academy are providing renewable scholarship assistance to Upper School students and we are so grateful. If you would like to learn more about the St. Julie Scholarship Program or would like to sponsor a student, please contact Lauren Marquis in the Office of Institutional Advancement at lmarquis@ndatyngsboro.org or (978) 649-7611 x321. “Education is the greatest gift we can give to our children or to someone else’s children.” - Kim McGovern ’81
oyal Lancers are a group of donors who have been giving consecutively for three or more years at any giving level. We are pleased to recognize these consistent donors who are acknowledged with an asterisk next to their name.
Kim McGovern, from the class of 1981, has been a faithful donor to NDA since shortly after her graduation going back to 1981. Recently, the alumni office started to recognize donors whom we can count on every year by creating the Loyal Lancer Giving Society. Loyal Lancers are donors who have given consecutively for three years or more. Kim has been giving consecutively for over 15 years! We chatted with Kim to learn more about her passion and faithfulness to NDA. Kim shared that giving to the education of others is one of her highest priorities. She gives to her college, her children’s school, and NDA, which is always high on her list. Her time here was instrumental in giving her a worldview beyond her small neighboring town of Dunstable. She is forever grateful for those who gave philanthropically back in the 80s so that she could have a scholarship to attend. She believes that the quality of teachers and focus on students and their personal growth at NDA was extraordinary. She fondly remembers her time as a player on the basketball team when she experienced one of the championship years as a freshman. Mrs. Innis, beloved NDA English teacher, had an enormous impact on her life. Mrs. Innis opened up her life to the world of books, poetry, and universal stories. “I spend the weekend on my couch, re-reading Ulysses,” she recalls Mrs. Innis sharing. Kim went on to major in English and Government before attending law school. If you’d like to join Kim in a gift to scholarship, please reach out to Director of Institutional Advancement Lauren Marquis or go online to make your gift this school year at ndatyngsboro.org/giving/
THANK YOU, KIM, AND ALL OUR LOYAL LANCERS FOR HELPING THE ACADEMY LIVE OUR MISSION. Kim McGovern (far left) celebrates reunion with classmates.

RACHEL ANNE MORRISON ’05 SCIENCE LAB UPDATE e are excited to share an update on the new Rachel Anne Morrison ’05 Science Lab, a state-of-the-art facility on the third floor of our Upper School wing providing hands-on opportunities for discovery, learning, and innovation. This lab will offer students with adequate lab space for our growing enrollment and enable NDA to expand our science curriculum in all disciplines, including biochemical-tech level labs. It will include six student learning pods intended to engage up to 24 students at a time in interactive labs and group experiments. The new Science Lab is named for Rachel Anne Morrison, Class of 2005 valedictorian and 12-season athlete. Rachel was a scientist who was passionate about protecting our environment, the oceans and marine life. She received degrees from Boston University and the University of California San Diego. She was working toward her PhD in Marine Biology at Scripps Institution of Oceanography when her life was cut short by a drunk driver. NDA is proud to honor her memory and legacy.
“Rachel was passionate about science, and loved hands-on time in the lab doing what she referred to as ’fun science’. She would be so pleased to know that we are continuing our commitment to STEAM by helping the next generation understand, appreciate, and care for the environment and scientific pursuits.” - Mrs. Sue Turkovich, Former Science Teacher
Thanks to our generous community, more than $300,000 has been raised of the total cost of $500,000. Your support will greatly impact the STEAM programming at NDA, continue to ensure Rachel is remembered, and that the next generations benefit from Rachel’s THANK YOU TO OUR passion and dedication to the sciences.
