Description of Regional Meetings: Every fall, NCLR together with its Affiliate Council convenes regional meetings throughout the country for its Affiliate Network. The regional meetings are two-day events focused on issues that Affiliates in each region identify and include strategy sessions and peer training opportunities, as well as updates on NCLR initiatives, programs, and legislative work. The 2007 Fall Regional Meetings will be led by the Affiliate council representatives of each region and will address state/local priorities as a follow-up to the regional meetings held during the NCLR 2007 Annual Conference. Approximately 25-50 of NCLR s Affiliate leadership travel to meet with at least two members of NCLR s Executive Management Team and several NCLR program and policy staff to conduct business related to enhancing the relationship and effectiveness of the NCLR Affiliate Network. On one evening of the event, NCLR and the local Affiliate(s) host a reception for approximately 100 leaders from the area, including elected officials, key local/regional business leaders, local city/state agencies, community leaders from local partner organizations and sister organizations, potential Affiliate members, and NCLR s regional staff.
