Each month, the girls gather to tackle topics that support our three pillars of culture, leadership, and philanthropy while strengthening their soft skills and utilizing their voice in a safe environment. What a magnificent accomplishment, and by working together we can hit the 1 million mark and the impact! We’ve got several ways for you to get involved:
Jan. 8, 2025
Chapter leaders will gather virtually for a brief check-in to share their plans for their local book drives Every chapter will have an opportunity to shout out their community activity and their impact numbers Best of all, this brief virtual event will be hosted by 7th graders from across the country. DEI Council members will perform a special Martin Luther King Jr. Reading. Let’s support our Ticktockers and get a glimpse of the impact that we will make as we prepare for our National Day of Service weekend
Jan. 11, 2025
Every chapter serving on the same day will make a massive impact in communities all across the country. On this day, chapters collect their books, sort and pack books, deliver books, make bookmarks or even read to children at a local library or bookstore. Don’t forget to utilize your 7th graders to create new possibilities
In 1994, Congress passed the King Holiday and Service Act, which transformed Martin Luther King Jr. Day into a day dedicated to volunteer service in honor of his legacy. On this day, we are asking chapters to participate in a fun social media awareness campaign. You’ll post pictures and videos of your book drive activities to acknowledge the importance of MLK Jr. Day. Our hope is that every chapter will continue to inspire a legacy of social awareness and compassion by sharing our local impact!
Plan to participate and create some special moments along the way If you missed our recent Impact event, here’s a link to the keynote speaker‘s presentation, Donzaleigh Abernathy, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s goddaughter. We encourage you to create a listening party to jumpstart your celebration!
And don’t forget to order your specially designed National Day of Service t-shirts!

Dear NCL insiders,
What can happen when a group of passionate, dedicated NCL leaders join forces to find a way to elevate Ticktocker programming and are presented with a challenge from out of the blue? The Ticktocker Inspire Innovation Fund! It started with an exceptional offer from a very generous anonymous donor for a $250,000 match campaign to create a transformational program for Ticktockers This challenge was not only met, but it was also surpassed more than a year ahead of the deadline
The success is due to the incredible work of each member individually and collaboration of all on this team made up of amazing NCL leaders from across the country It has been my privilege and honor to be a part of this group of visionary leaders and words do not express the gratitude and admiration in my heart
You may be wondering why this team is so enthusiastic about this program, especially when they are all well past their active years in NCL The simple answer is their desire to improve the opportunities available to the Ticktockers of today and in the future through NCL It is also to be a part of creating the philanthropists of tomorrow, and to ensure that NCL will be a viable and relevant organization for the next 100 years, with our mother daughter teams across the country providing local support so that every community thrives
While we have focused on raising the funds to guarantee the viability of this program for years to come, the team on our National Ticktocker Advisory Council under the guidance of Sustainer Ticktocker, Kate French, and NCL’s talented staff has created the details and criteria for the Chapter Ticktocker Councils to apply for a grant for a project in their communities.
Please join me in thanking everyone who has been a part of this campaign for their efforts to make this dream a reality. Also, please consider including the Ticktocker Inspire Innovation Fund in your annual philanthropic gift list for the young women of today and tomorrow. We are and with the innovative thinking and inspiring teamwork ouncils, it makes me think of Dr Seuss’s book, “Oh the
