DR. KARRIE G. DIXON

was named the 13th chancellor of North Carolina Central University on June 6, 2024. She was elected by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors following her nomination by the University of North Carolina System President Peter Hans. She began her appointment on July 1, 2024.

Dr. Dixon served as the 12th chief executive officer and 7th chancellor of Elizabeth City State University, where she was appointed on December 14, 2018. Dr. Dixon served as the interim chancellor from April 9, 2018, until her appointment.

DELEGATES AND LODGING

CHECK-IN FACILITIES

Delegates and ceremony participants should arrive at Pearson Dining Hall, Chancellor’s Dining Room, on the campus of NCCU, no later than 7:30 a.m. You may park in the Farrison-Newton Communications Lot or other designated parking lots. The Installation ceremony will begin at 9 a.m.

CEREMONIAL ATTIRE

Academic regalia is required for official delegates, platform guests, NCCU faculty and administrators. Delegates must bring their own attire.

ROBING

Robing will begin in Pearson Dining Hall, Banquet Hall, at 8 a.m. Marshals, hosts and hostesses will be available to assist delegates.

ACADEMIC PROCESSION

The line-up for the procession will begin at 8:30 a.m. The procession for official delegates will be organized according to the founding date of their institution. Delegates of learned societies will line up alphabetically. Marshals will lead the respective groups. The procession will begin at 8:50 a.m.
