A specialist in ancient Greek art, Soles was curator for 28 years before her retirement in 2010. The speaker is Rachel Kousser, professor at Brooklyn College and the Graduate Center, City University of New York. Light refreshments follow the lecture.

From Judaica to Holocaust Avatars Sunday, November 11, 3–5 pm East Building, SECU Auditorium f r e e ; ticket required Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett explores the life of Jewish things in the world and in the museum, as material or digital objects, as sites of loving memory or anxiety, as art or artifact, and, above all, as a prism that refracts Jewish experience. The speaker is chief curator of the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw and a professor at New York University.

Live from the Conservation Lab—The Mystery of Bacchus Wednesday, October 3, 10:30 am f r e e ; registration required Students can learn about the art and science behind the Bacchus Conservation Project in this virtual field trip. While all grade levels are welcome to participate, this has been designed for grades 3–5. By registering in advance, teachers will receive clues to help the curator solve a mystery investigating the properties of marble in an ancient sculpture.
