~ THE YEAR AHEAD ~

2022 Promises Fantastic CME Opps that You’re Going to Love

Your NCAFP Meetings Department enjoyed a little rest and a little relaxation (and a quick dip in the Atlantic Ocean for good luck on New Year’s Day!) over the December holidays. But, when January 3rd rolled around, our focus quickly returned to designing and planning several terrific and empowering educational opportunities just for you. Grab your calendar and save the dates for these fantastic CME opportunities in 2022.

2022 Family Medicine Academic Summit

The NCAFP’s first-ever 2-day Family Medicine Academic Summit, with a dedicated focus on guidelines, tips, and trends, is a “2022 Must-Do” for all NC Medical School Departments of Family Medicine and NC Family Medicine Residency Program faculty. Co-sponsored by the NC AHEC Program, this unique in-person conference, scheduled for Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Marriott Raleigh Crabtree Hotel, includes practical and actionable takeaways for everyone in your department or program. Program co-chairs, Dr. Victoria Boggiano and Dr. Lisa Cassidy-Vu have included a slate of topics by expert guest speakers to include ACGME Guidelines, New Family Medicine Residency Tracks in NC, MAT and OUD Updates, FMLA Guidelines and Updates, Junior Faculty Career Tips and Resources, and Leadership Training in Academic Settings and Healthcare Organizations. The program will also include a panel discussion, keynote sessions, and fantastic networking opportunities that you will not want to miss. Registration to attend is $125 per person, and attendees can expect to earn approximately 6 CME credits by their participation. You can find full schedule details, the guest speaker lineup, online registration, hotel reservations, and more at www.ncafp.com/summit.

2022 Virtual Summer Symposium

Last year’s Virtual Summer Symposium was such a terrific success and so well-received by so many of you that we’ve added it to our 2022 CME portfolio. Program Chair Dr. Thomas White has already begun developing this highly requested and convenient summertime learning opportunity that you are sure to enjoy. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August

6, 2022, and plan to advance your knowledge and understanding of common patient issues you see and treat every day via this fun and lively webcast. With approximately 6 CME credits up for grabs, this oneday interactive virtual opportunity will include timely requested topics brought to you by industry experts and family physician colleagues. Begin thinking about your favorite location to be in for this relaxed and favorable format for learning, and watch your email and the conference site at www.ncafp.com.summercme for more updates and complete details coming soon!

2022 Winter Family Physicians Weekend

Affectionately known around the office as “The Big Meeting,” the 2022 Winter Family Physicians Weekend is always an end-of-year favorite for everyone. This annual winning combination of timely requested CME, camaraderie, networking, and just plain old good fun is scheduled for Thursday, December 1 – Sunday, December 4, 2022, at the Omni Grove Park Inn. Your program chair, Dr. Deanna Didiano, and your program vice-chair, Dr. Tamieka Howell, have already begun preparing a slate of topics that you will not want to miss. Begin making your plans to join us for this long-standing tradition in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC, this December. Watch your email and the conference site, www.ncafp.com/wfpw, for more updates and complete schedule and registration details coming soon!

Your NCAFP Meetings Department is committed to providing you with the best learning opportunities in 2022, and we look forward to seeing you at one or more of these fantastic events. If you have never attended an NCAFP conference, we warmly invite you to join us this year and experience firsthand what all the buzz is about. You’ll enjoy a CME program that is guaranteed to leave your family medicine heart refreshed and re-energized. On behalf of the NCAFP, thank you for ALL that you do for your patients and communities every day. We appreciate you, and we are so proud of you! Best wishes for a safe, happy, and rewarding 2022.
