ADHD Facts vs Myths Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder which has both negative and positive aspects but unfortunately there are alot of myths going around which really gets in the way of what the evidence is saying about it.

What is ADHD Everybody can have difficulty sitting still, paying attention or controlling impulsive behavior once in a while. For some people, however, the problems are so pervasive and persistent that they interfere with every aspect of their life..

Analogy of ADHD ADHD brains are like a race car that has to drive on the roads instead of on a race track. Sometimes they are going too fast, so they miss stop signs or directions. They don’t see events or people happening around them, not because they don’t care, but because they are moving too fast to notice. The race car doesn’t have to change into a different vehicle to fit in on the regular roads. It just needs to figure out how to apply the brakes a bit when the road requires it. Race cars aren’t better or worse than other vehicles; they’re just different.
