We hope that you enjoyed your visit to Nazareth Village today. We enjoyed bringing you closer to the life that Jesus would have experienced in his time. We want to preserve this experience for many generations to come.

Every year the compelling Christmas and Easter stories are re-enacted at our Village – a living witness to visitors from all over the world.

From simple food to celebration feasts, biblical meals give an authentic flavour to the first-century experience.

A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell ... on good soil, where it produced a crop – a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

Our Village replicates a working farm as it would have existed in firstcentury Nazareth. Livestock is cared for and crops are grown, harvested and processed in our workshops, from the olive press to the weaver’s loom, bringing Jesus’ teachings to life.

Building on the past

Our first-century Nazareth Village represents many years of historical, anthropological and archaeological research, and every detail of this Early-Roman period agricultural village has been faithfully restored using materials and building methods that would have been available in Jesus’ time.

The archeological findings of cultivated terraces, a watchtower and the wine press hewn into the limestone bedrock, preserved virtually intact, provide a direct connection to the past and to Jesus’ life in Nazareth.

Nazareth Village - part of The Nazareth Trust Tracing our roots back to 1861, The Nazareth Trust is one of the most established and prominent Christian organisations in Israel. Every year we engage with over 250,000 people at our Hospital, Nursing School, Nazareth Village and through our Christian volunteering program – including patients and their families, students, international volunteers, pilgrims and tourists, as well as our valued staff.

The Nazareth Trust is unique in its position in the Middle East, aiming to reach out to the local population and to the wider world, irrespective of faith, political persuasion or tradition, through healthcare, through education, through proclamation and through service.

Building for the future Since its opening in 2000, Nazareth Village has drawn thousands of people through its gates and we have seen visitor numbers grow to nearly 100,000 per year. To build on this success and to keep growing this ministry for future visitors, we urgently need to expand the existing visitor center – a huge undertaking costing $10 Million.

A new building on currently unused Nazareth Village land is to house our new Discovery Center – large enough to accomodate the current operations, vastly improve the visitor experience and allow for expansion of new initiatives.
