Technology/iPad Specifications

1:1 iPad Program: All students use iPads for most of their courses. Students provide their own iPad with a minimum of 128GB storage. An iPad Pro with 64GB or more of storage is also acceptable. iPads with storage of 32GB or less as well as iPad minis are not acceptable, as they will not provide enough storage or features required for classroom use. A keyboard and stylus or Apple Pencil are also required. Students are responsible for iPad care and maintenance, so we recommend the purchase of an Apple Care plan.

The use of iPads provides enhanced opportunities for learning, while the savings in book costs more than make up for the purchase of the device over four years. Once a student registers a device, he or she receives access to Nazareth’s secure and protected WiFi network throughout the school.

Graduation Honors

At the end of the eighth semester the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for Nazareth Academy’s graduating class will be determined by their AP and Honors A’s.

Each AP and Honors semester grade of A+, A, and A- will be weighted as follows:  AP A+ = 6 points, AP A = 5 points, AP A- = 4 points  Honors A+ = 3 points, Honors A = 2 points, Honors A- = 1 point The students with the top two totals are named Valedictorian and Salutatorian.

Since all six of those A’s have a value of 5 quality points when calculating GPA, these assigned points distinguish the top GPAs based on strength of course work.

Graduating senior members of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, language honor societies, and Mu Alpha Theta graduate with distinction. Honor stoles are worn by members of the National Honor Society. Honor cords of significant color are worn by members of the English Honor Society, the language honor societies, Mu Alpha Theta, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Only these academic cords may be worn with the cap and gown.
